Hello all

We are Neil and Tracey (number 397), supposed to have due finish date on 1 Jan 2007 but we still have not had any notification of when we are supposed to sign etc for keys.  Is anyone else in the same situation.  Does any one have any news or have heard any reason for the delay...

Neil and Tracey

Hi Neil & Tracey,

I have just got back from Spain. I have been told that my property (411 R5) is finished and ready to move into. I went to do an initial snagging and found the property was completed and furniture package in a pile in the middle of the lounge/diner, but not unpacked.

Having met with my solicitor, I have found out that I cannot complete until all three documents which are required are received by them. At the moment only one received. I asked if there was any way I could hurry things up, but was told no - it could be next week or another 9 months! - how frustrating!!!!!! Still I suppose that the good and bad of Spain are two sides of the same coin ie. the laid back life style is the good, but if you need to get anything done in a hurry, impossible, is the bad!

Julia

Hello All

We were out in Dream Hills last week, our apartment on R5 is completed - just a little snagging to do.We were able to get the keys from the Show house office - just needed proof of ID, we were then free to take a good look around. We should complete 3/4 April so fingers crossed. We got the furniture pack included also (some elements of which we have upgraded with the suppliers direct), well done for getting the White goods thrown in too!!

The development is looking really good with people seemingly taking possession on a regular basis.

We met our 'upstairs neighbours' who had just moved in and had a good chat with them.

I'll try post some more pics soon.

Oh - weather was great, nice and sunny - 23degs.

Hi everyone

I have also purchased a quad in dream hills I was thinking of buying an apartment as they come fully furnished but plumped for a quad house although they dont come furnished I think they are outstanding value in a great area. The development looks really good and I hope to complete mid April as I have been told by my agent that all the paper work should be in place by then,my agent is always spot on as I have had a lot of dealings with him in buisiness in Spain. But these things take time in Spain better safe than sorry. Cant wait to move over and meet everybody, from the forum it sounds like its going to be a great place to be.

Hope to see you all soon.

Jaime & Lauren from Middlesex.

Hi All,

We are John & Jen R2 due to complete in June.

Could somebody please post the contact details for the furniture pack supplier we would like to see what our options are as to changing the sofa and dinning room set.

Do the suppliers have a brochure? Are there many options?

We were basically told we would get what we saw in the show apartment?

Any info would be great.

Many Thanks

Hello Johnny H and all

We bought through MASA the furniture supplier is 'Muebles Sanchez'  who are in Los Montesinos - 15mins away (ish).

They have a brochure with lots of packages but they were quite flexible when we visited them, though there didn't appear to be any straight swaps.

We dealt with Janine who speaks good English and spent lots of time with us and was very helpful.

Thanks for the info.

A couple of questions:

How did you make contact with them, their website seems like it's under construction? http://www.mueblessanchez.com/

Do you have an email address for Janine?

Do you have a digital copy of the brochure which you could post?

Thanks again!!

Hi

Contacted by phone but as we were out there we paid a visit to the showroom.

I don't have an email contact for Janine and the website wasn't much use.

I will take a look at scanning my brochure and try send it to you, though this may have to wait until the weekend.

It may be that Janine will send you a copy?

Hi All.

We bought through Atlas and the furniture, as shown in the show house, comes from Arca Mobiliario in  Torrevieja.  We bought in R2 and are going out again in April to get NIE and choose furniture package. As we are hiring a car while there, we intend to sort these things out ourself. We were a bit surprised when Atlas informed us that for picking us up, bringing us to the furniture showroom and a visit to the house to see progress would cost 150 euros! ( a dear taxi ride! )

If anyone has any information on obtaining the NIE or where the best place to apply for this is, please let me know as there seems to be conflicting versions of the way to obtain this. Even the Spanish Embassy in Manchester wasn't sure!

Hi Conrad

We intend to do this ourselves, so I hope there are no problems.  I know to take passports, and a copy of them along with passport size photos plus a completed application form (not signed). How long did the process take inside the town hall and do you need to have the form completed on arrival or can it be done inside?

Hello all

We visited the Spanish Consulate in Manchester with our completed NIE application forms, paid £22 per application and received our Numbers within 4 weeks.

All entirely painless and  much cheaper than a trip to Spain.

A friend also got his by visiting the New town hall at Cabo Roig / Playa Flamenca and also had a smooth process.

If you do a search for NIE there are lots of sites with guidance for the application process, there are also sites advertising that they will complete the NIE for you - at a price100+ euros per application. There really is no need when the process is so simple.

Hope this helps

The form can be completed prior to attending the office - but you must sign it in front of the official.

Hi

I didn't realise you could get this at the "town hall", I thought you had to go to the foreigners department at the local police station.
