Monte Selwo Up-date

Hi Lisa Marie here! well what a shock to read about Damein I called him to say thank you for his honesty.

We have not been able to get out to Spain this year but have friends that live over there, they have informed us that the site looks fantastic (phew!).  The bank are keen to get the remainder of our money but of course we have been very cautious and have asked all the relevant questions, especially after hearing about another few characters of importance being arrested.  Our Solicitor informs us that the developers are getting impatient and, if we do not send the remaining money they are going to 'resolve' our contract WOT a cheek considering we have waited nearly TWO years over the completion date and in that  time of buying off-plan to now we have NEVER had any feed back from the developers.  Funny isn't it when money is involved? 

Is any one going to use the numbers kindly supplied by Damein?  We know we are! -  please may I ask Forest, 'what is your position at the moment? are you going to court and if you don't mind me asking why?  If this is too personal I am sorry and don't answer me!   We are aware that there are families living on site so this is a relief.  Also has any one done their snagging list yet - any interesting findings?

Well we hope that this all blows over and that the other apartments get sold - phase 2 is completed and that we can all live happily ever after over a few Sangrias TOGETHER!!!!  

Joe and I hope that we get to meet you all soon - we have two children a girl of 13 and a boy of 11, any future budding friendships on the horizon???

We were over in Monte Selwo up to 25th July and did our snagging then.  We weren't sure who to give/ send the snagging list to, as Damien was unfortunately not available, but had a stroke of luck in bumping into the Developer doing his rounds with his ( and our) bank Manager, who luckily spoke English and passed the list on for us.  He also got the water turned on as we did not have any for 3 days.

Apart from lack of water, the main problem was with the sliding doors which all stuck & didn't run properly, and scratches over most of the doors, and bathroom worktops.  we also had some deep scratches in the stairs, tiles covered in grout, and one or two other minor defects. I have emailed Ruth Crespo who has told us that the snagging has now been done, but unfortunately we have not been able to get over there since to check.

The swimming pools were empty of water and I'm not sure when they are going to be filled, and the lifts were not working yet.

Other than that all is fine!

We are in A205 which is your apartment?

Dear Forest we are too having problems and yes we are worried that if there is problems with the apartment - who is going to resolve these now Damien has gone?  Also we have constantly been trying to contact the developers for the last three years with NO reply etc... so can you see them replying to us in the future if we have a serious building defect/that needs putting right, I think NOT a very BIG worry our apartment is C004.   They are threatening us that by tomorrow they are going to 'Resolve' our contract? our number is 07710 115414 if you want to give us a call Lisa and Joe

Dear Noddy, Forest and Jane

Isn't it funny that we could not get in touch with the delveopers for years - and now that we are NOT going ahead with the remaining amount and completion they have email us?  we have NOT emailed back and do not intend to - we emailed the bank (the one that the developers advised us to use) who wouldn't at the last minute lend us the rest of the full amount to buy Monte anyway.  We were truthfully honest about our financial situation here - we can't afford to carry on with the purchase because of this credit crunch etc...   We today received an email from the bank who have advised us NOT to part with anymore money as it looks very probable that the developers are going under if anyone wants to see this email please email back and I will forward it to you, the bank,actually told us that the developers situation is DRAMATIC..   I suspect JANE that when you saw the two of them together they were talking receivership - and to of duped you on that day is just terrible.  

A very expensive mistake to lose our deposit but I'd much rather do that then throw good money after bad - GOOD LUCK

I would like to hear from anybody who has paid a deposit or bought an apartment in Monte Selwo, I might be able to help you with information regarding your apartments or help you find renters for your apartments. I used to work for the developers and I live in Monte Selwo. My name is Damien Compton, some of you will remember me, others may not but I am here and if I can help then I will.

Hello everyone, I just thought you would like to know what is happening here in Monte Selwo. Quite a few apartments have been sold to Norwegians as holiday homes. Many of them use their homes several times a year and all of them have fallen in love with Monte Selwo. Family get-togethers, visiting friends, bar-b-qs and terrace parties bring life to this place throughout the year. Early morning and late afternoons the male lion in Selwo Aventura can be heard letting everyone know he is around, wild peacocks stroll around the urbanisation, stunning sunsets and views of Africa, my morning or aftenoon walks with my dogs in the surrounding countryside, complete the image of living in paradise. O.K. the lifts still don`t work, and only some of the communal gardens are looked after but apart from that, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. If anyone has an apartment and is thinking of renting, please let me know as my wife and I have established ourselves here and know all of the owners and maybe able to find either renters or someone interested in buying. I hope this finds all of you in good health and I look forward to hearing from anyone who is either still interested in Monte Selwo or looking for a way to get some kind of return on their investment.

I thought you would like to know that there are about 20 apartments still available and they are all selling for €150,000.

 

Hello everyone,

I have the telephone number of the person in Cresan Gestiones, S.L. who is responsible for selling the remaining apartments in Monte Selwo. The telephone number is: (0034) 639 187 001, I believe his name is Francisco, he speaks English. Maria Jose - widow to the original owner Carlos Crespo also has a phone number although I don`t think she speaks English: (0034) 647 492 926. Prices here at Monte Selwo are now listed as being: From €115,000. I don`t know exactly how many apartments are left unsold but I imagine there are still a few. Some of you have gone to court with this company, some have lost and I know of at least one who has won but is still waiting to be paid. These numbers should be useful to some, if not all of you for one reason or another.

A Monte Selwo 2 update.

The second phase has been finished. It isn't called Monte Selwo 2, it is called Ocean Hills and they have started selling apartments. It is still owned by the Crespo family and this could be useful for people who paid deposits in Monte Selwo 1 and 2 but are still waiting for their money back.
