We need some British advertising in the popular press. If only we could get hold of Max Clifford.
The new airport and theme park must bring the area some press coverage.

Hi Everyone
Think this is a little unfair on the Spaniard Inn.
Anybody who knows Kevin, Joe, Frankie and Kieran know that they do put on great entertainment, food, football and all in a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
There may be no repsonse because they do not view our community, i dont know but all you have to do is go on their website (all the www's spaniniarinndotcom) EOS wont let me post a link to the website or facebook page.
Life is what you make it, get down there and make your own entertainment and join in the fun.

Just returned from HDA this weekend.
The golf course was busy all week.
British golf development squad enjoying a weeks training exclusively at HDA.
Halifax Rugby League team had just returned home from a 5 day pre-season trianing camp held at the resort. Apparently record bar takings were recorded in the Spaniard Inn!
New clubhouse management has Live Music events planned for March/April and throughout the rest of the year. The a la carte menu has some very interesting dishes on it.
Spaniard Inn busy every night that we went there. Food good and exeptionally good value.
Didnt meet anybody there with the negativity of Damage! He's only made 2 posts and he is moaning about lack of response! Oh dear!!

100percent correct Hyacinth, you,re a bright girl..
No 2nd golf course, no hotel in fact nothing that was promised has materialised. My property has lost nearly 200,000 euros of course I,m negative.
As to the Halifax rugby club, my friend Spike tells me they ran riot in the Spaniard, one of them apparently kicked another residents door in. This will really raise the standard at Hacienda...............
I,m due out in April we,ll see how it looks.

Why worry about loosing a few quid, or whether a door has been kicked in (unless is it was yours)?
There is loads to do at and around Hacienda, most of which is off campus. The Spaniard is fine as a basic pub, as is the clubhouse but there are numerous great Spanish restaurants nearby, great golf, mountain-biking in the mountains, walking and culture. The tapas bars in Murcia City are fabulous and there is a number of great beaches.
If you stop moaning and get on with enjoying the environment then Hacienda becomes a great place to stay.
By the way, property values are likely to drop further and are unlikely to start rising for at least a year or so. This has nothing to do with the resort, but that there are currently 1.4m unsold properties in Spain.
Hacienda has been run badly, but at least all the property under construction has been completed, unlike most other places. Perhaps we should have all done our research better, but don't blame the resort for the banking crisis/Spanish overbuild/overseas property speculator stupidity!

Hi Ranmore
I am glad others are seeing things your way and my way (refer my previous message) the glass is half full, not half empty as some seem to see think.
I am glad I bought my apartment at El Oasis, even though I seem to be the only resident at present !,,,, but I am sure things will pick up.

Ricky, we have always been able to park in an underground car park just off the main street. From there walk towards the cathedral and you will come across several squares with good tapas and busy bars that are open until very late(some with music etc). There are also a couple of excellent formal restaurants, but can't remember the names. Alternatively there is parking down by the river and it is then a short, but rather nice walk. Incidentally another great day out is in the mountains behind Alhama. We found a Brit run hotel that offers guided walking and mountain biking (luckily they transport the bikes to the top!) and also they do fantastic quad bike safari's into the national park. Info at home but let me know if anyone interested.

Thanks for the info.
We are going over soon and wanted to go to Murcia.Always go to Cartegena and have promised ourselves that this time we will go.
Would that be the Hotel Mariposa that does the mountain bikes? I saw something similar advertised in a free mag.
Our 2 sons would love to do that and they are coming over in the Summer.

Hi Ricky, It is the Mariposa. Very well organised and friendly.
we have been there a couple of times since with different guests and they have all loved it. Great views from the restaurant also, although the food is basic
Best wishes
Nick

Hi Nick,
Sounds great. Doesn't matter if the food is basic the views are more important.I read that they also do music nights and overnight bed and breakfast so you don't have to drive home.
Will look into it.
Regards Ricky
