Have been back a week from our visit to Terrazas! Feels like it was months ago! Unfortunately Balsicas taxis were a disaster and after driving round the site for 10 minutes said they couldn't find us and went home! Wasn't helped by the fact that the security guard told them there was no such block as ours!! When I rang the taxi company back to see where the taxi was, a very rude man told me there was no such block and hung up on me!!! I rang the security gate, and the guard then told me that the taxi had gone and he had phoned another taxi company, Roldan taxis, and they were there within 10 minutes! What a fiasco, and I did wonder if maybe the guard was on commission, because he had a card ready for me at the gate with the Roldan taxis number on it!! Hmmmm!!! Never mind, we were ok in the end!!! Thankfully we met 2 ladies from Ireland, Caroline and Elaine, who very kindly taxied us around after coming to say hello to us on the Saturday, and in return we bought them a few drinks and cooked a meal on our last night!!! We also managed the shopping, we walked to the shop on 3 occasions, not easy in that heat, but we took our hand luggage cases and managed to get enough food in to last for the first few days - and of course the wine and beer!!!! Unfortunately the shop on site was lacking in quite a few items of fresh vegetables, there were no onions, garlic, lettuce or celery, which they had at the La Torre shop in abundance! Not sure that I want to go all the way to La Torre to buy my fruit and salad, and I would have thought they would have the same choices at both shops! We still had a great week, and I felt very sad locking up the apartment knowing I wouldn't be back until September!! No need to worry about taxis or shopping then either, as we are coming across with the car and my lovely black Labrador Jess! It will be her first visit to our apartment, can't wait to see what she makes of it!! Hope all is well with Caroline and Elaine, who are staying until the end of August! Wish I was there too!!!
