skip

hi everyone you all know me i am dennis and live just as you turn to go out of sierra golf.my problem is the skip everytime it gets emptyied i go and clean up whats left .it would be easy if everyone either took the rubbish to balsicas or left it at home when  the skip was full .the problem is when people dump it at the side of the skip the cats come along and scavinge the bags .the wind blows and then the residue rubbish blows up and into my garden and pool as well as next door. if the skip is full and you are leaving sierra golf then its only a couple of minuets to go into balsicas and put it into one of the bins.if you are just getting rid of rubbish and not leaving sierra golf then all i do is leave it by my gate in the garden and take it down when the skip is empty.i clean the road by the skip most times it is emptied and would like to say it would be easy if everyone did either of the two options..............dennis

I too would like to second what Dennis has said, we live next door and the skip is not only unsitely when its full and people decide to add at the side etc, as well as throwing from their cars and missing thus spliting the bag all over the floor, we have rubbish, flies and a terrible smell at this time of the year.  

The skips not for large items such as matresses, furniture, if you have that then put that at the side, the morocan gentleman will whisk it away, be sensible cardboard needs crushing down, large plastic 'covers' need securing into a ball or it blows.

I too have cleared the skip area and the fence, on the occasion I was doing it two seperate gentleman came and put rubbish in and said 'thats not a nice job'!!!!!!!!!!!! Gee thanks, they didnt help.    No it isnt but its everyones responsibility not just us few who have to look at it day in day out. So please be sensible, its going to get worse as its holiday time, and people buy new things, so the skip will be full quickly, when the skip arrives, with whats left its always half full straight away. 

Maybe we could get the skip moved outside the office, it might get emptied more often............  

Are the bins in Balsicas in any particular place?

hi stableford the bins in balsicas are on the road side as you go through there are quite a few so should have no trouble disposing of rubbish .......................dennis

Hi Stableford   there are some bins in Balsicas  opposite the police station Green-for general rubbish.    Grey-for cardboad.   Yellow-for bottles.   .There are some more on the right hand side just through the traffic lights and as den stated several a long the main road.

HI Den/Nic. Thanks for both efforts they have not gone unnotice   .It might help if the people representing Masa read them and arrage two extra skips around the area in different locations so people at the far end dont have fetch their rubbish so far only to leave it when the present one is full.  I know they can not empty three skips at once but every other day for each skip would help matters. if it means donating a couple of euros a week towards the extra skips then so be it as far as i'm concerned.

hi everyone the skip man came today at 18:30 he took the skip away and left a empty one in its place .once again i have had to go and clear the mess that has been left around it i was cleaning it for 30 mins the skip is now almost full again so we now start the cycle again ..i cant believe we want our urbanisation to be full of household crap that we cant be bothered to either take it out with us and put it in the bins in balsicas or just leave it until the skip is empty..it really does make me feel that we cant be bothered and just dump it and then expect someone else to clean it up .it is no use doing the green areas and making them look nice then where everyone sees make it like a shit tip  ..once again i plead with everyone if the skip is full dont just dump it at the side. your area around your house might look good but we look onto what you leave......................dennis

Hi Den & Nicole, I totally agree with all your comments. The smell from the skip makes it impossible for us to use our rear terrace on some days. Just looking at the skip is bad enough, but we have got used to that now, but when people just dump their rubbish wherever it lands it makes me furious, because that's all we can see. The trouble is it's always the same people, (because they don't have to look at it) so long as it's out of their house they don't care!

Today, we took a few cardboard boxes to the skip, and as always we broke them down and used them to build up the sides in the skip, this stops the rubbish bags falling off and makes the skip slightly larger. This probably took us all of 2-3 minutes but there was already rubbish and other cardboard on the ground that someone had just dumped. Why can't other people do this, no it's easier just to drop it and let someone else clear it up!

I also spend time clearing the land at the rear of my house / behind the eysore un-used post boxes, since these have been built a lot of the rubbish dumped gets blown into this area and also into my garden. But again other people don't  have to see it and obviously do not give a damb, it's the old "not in my back yard" syndrome.

Thank you to everyone who does make an effort.    It would be nice if the skip were moved to another area just for a change then people would know what it's like to look out at a tip

Hi Dennis , I know where you are coming from concerning the skip , But the streets and public gardens were another problem before the skip was mentioned . When we first came on the site Masa were keeping this area tidy up to a point . this was also the same with the streets which were basiclly cleaned and trees pruned . The public areas were left covered in weeds , never touched by Masa . If Ian had left the garden area beside his house it would be a jungle today . I came to help him as the work was too great for one person . Now this area is like a real garden  .Following this Lesley and myself started the top garden . With Ians , this as been ongoing for about 18 months when he started , with our help  people started joining in to help in triming and cleaning the streets because Masa is NOT going to do it . People have asked us to start another garden near where they live and  they will join in . Going around the site tidying up , we will arrive at the skip in due course . Nicole and Jeff bravely tried to tackle  the garden area near the skip , but it was a massive job from just two people . We  put all the rubbish from the gardens at the end of the street past the pool bar in the field off the estate . If all the garden rubbish were put there the skip would be freed to take household scrap . The residents if need be could hire an extra skip , but would Masa get rid of theirs if we start paying . What we need is for a local newspaper to show the amount of rubbish we have to fit in one skip . Hopefully Masa would supply a second .  If you can get someone with a tractor to level the area around the skip a team of volunteers would make dent in cleaning and gardening this area , it's no good one man on his own trying  to do this .

hi everyone once again the skip man came it was around 12:45 yesterday my wife and i went to clean up all the crap that others had left again we did get some help from nicole and all told it took the 3 of us almost 45 mins..we are now completly fed up with this as last night 2 spanish ladies took there rubish to the skip but as they tried to put it in the skip the bag burst so they just left it and walked away.we are now trying to get the skip moved ..i spoke with miguel this morning and asked if the skip could be put on m21 as nobody lives on that street .if anyone does not like where it is going then i am sure we could move it into the middle of the urbanisation and let someone else have the problems that we have suffered since the skip was put close to our houses..........dennis

If People  Used the recycle bins in Balsicas (of which there areplenty) the skip would not fill up so quick and it would be of benifit to the comunity in more ways than one.

HI EVERYONE JUST TO LET YOU ALL KNOW THE SKIP HAS NOW BEEN MOVED .I DID ASK FOR IT TO BE PUT ON M21 AS NOBODY LIVES DOWN THERE BUT IT HAS BEEN MOVED TO JUST OF THE ROUNDERBOUT NEAR TO THE GOLF COURSE.PLEASE COULD YOU PASS IT ON TO OTHERS AS I WILL ...I WOULD LIKE TO THANK MIGUEL FOR LISTENING AND AUTHERISING THE MOVE...DENNIS
