Joyfull July!!
July has been a bit of amixed bag to say the least. Andy Jones came all the
way down from Torrevieja (Sat. 2nd July) and was disappointed with the
numbers in attendance. Friday 8th July, was a fantastic night with 140
people enjoying the delights of a fish and chip supper and Barrington singing his heart out!!
Many thanks to Catherine Emme t t - Smi t h who brought many members
(89 in all) from Condado de Alahama Golf Society for their end of year
p r e s e n t a t i o n a n d celebration. And many thanks to Terence Dunthorne who has provided the photographs of this fantastic evening..
The atmosphere was incredible!!
Saturday 9th featuring the fabulous Christine King,was again a disappointing turn out.
BBQ’s on the terrace eventually got off the ground on Thurs 21st July with an increase in numbers the following week.
Friday nights Fish and Chip evenings are consistently good whether Barrington
or Johnnie Sparrow have been playing
Saturday 16th we had a three piece live band (no backing music) who were
superb! Where were you?
Saturday 23rd Zoe Barnes p r o v i d e d f a n t a s t i c entertainment for the few
who attended and wowed our Spanish customers and staff alike with several
songs sung in Spanish.
Saturday 30th July we had a tremendous show —
VIVA Las Vegas! However again attendance was low w h i c h w a s v e r y
disappointing for the artistes. Yes, they still get paid whether there are 2
or 200 hundred people, however artistes are as good as their audience. If they have a large enthusiastic audience then their performance rises.
Their words not mine. I would sincerely appreciate some feedback here.
Can someone please explain what it is you want from the Clubhouse, as I am at a
loss as what to do about Saturday evenings. Would you prefer music on a Saturday to be once a month for instance? Or would you rather not have live entertainment every weekend? Is the menu the problem? My job is to support you the consumer
and to enable the Clubhouse to be what you want it to be. This new team are working so hard to provide good food and good service. Please help us to help you. Suggestions please to Drew at drew@losamigsrest.net or call me on 660326194.

BBQ’s On The Terrace
Mmmmm……..there is something about the smell of barbecued food!
Now upand running it is hoped that numbers in attendance continue to rise. What

The Beatles Are Back!
Back by popular request are The Liverpool band, Spains number one Beatles tribute
band. They are appearing on Saturday 6th August and the evening combines a set meal as follows;
Starters
• Cream of melon with basil and crispy Iberico serano ham
• Pineapple cocktail
• Vegetable Tempura
Main
• Fillet steak served with a Pedro Ximenez sauce,
thick hand cut chips and a parcel of carrots
Or
• Sole with cava and truffles with a parcel of green beans
Dessert
• Fruits of the forest tart
The meal is priced at30€ per person and includes drinks.
Pedro Ximenz is a fortified wine from Andalucia and adds a real depth of flavour to
sauces.

Saturday20th August we have a duo known as the Mad Hatters. From rock to pop, from soul to Mowtown these guys play great covers from the ‘60´s to today.

Saturday 27th we have a not to be missed Rock and Roll Extravaganza!! Featuring the best of Rock ´n´ Roll, re-live the good times and party on down!! Will you be twistin the night away or shake rattle and rollin?

Quiz Nights
Ian Adams has been doing a sterling job with the weekly quiz night on a Wednesday, however, he is returning to the UK at the beginning of September!! Many thanks Ian for the mind searching quizzes and for keeping everyone’s greymatter churning over!! You will be missed by many.
Regular quiz players would like these evenings to continue, so if there is anybody
out there who fancies themselves as a quizmaster then please let me know. In the
meantime I will be scanning the area to find a replacement who can match the
commitment Ian has made each week.
Menu Changes
Towards the end of July discussions took place with regard to the introduction of a children’s menu. Early August should see not only the introduction of a menu ´For the little people’ but also some changes to the main á la carte menu. The team here at The Clubhouse pride themselves on providing the best for their customers.
If you are not satisfied with either the food or service you receive then please
speak with the waiting staff. Alternatively feel free to

outlining your concern and he will do his best to rectify things for you. Similarly, if
you are pleased with the service and food please inform the waiting staff and do please tell others so they can enjoy the experience too.
