apartment purchase

Hi all

We are thinking of purchasing an apartment on HRGR, would there be any information that we need to stop us from buying, or has anybody regretted their purchase on HRGR.

Although I am an owner at Corvera Golf and Country Club, I must say that over the past few years, whilst waiting for ours to be built, we have stayed (rented) at several of the PW sites. If we were to buy a PW property, we would choose HRGR as the preference. Although a little way out of town it is a fantastic resort with a superb build layout and low density. The course is great fun too. When we stayed there the Hacienda was not even started and we were still happy, even with the Woodhouse.

we have dressed a lot of apartments at HR with curtains etc and they have all been lovely, we have many friends on there and the main comments we've had are about the lack of facilities, particularly if you don't have a car, it's a long way to walk to the supermarket from the far side.  And then the other main consideration is I suppose applicable to any golf resort and that's the high community fees. 

If you are not particularly into golf then it's expensive to run a property on a golf resort, there are many properties around HR, the village of La Tercia or Sucina which are close by with many facilites and non of the running cost.

In our village there are various houses for sale for less than the apartments are selling for, some for under 90,000e.

Thank you Mariposa for your responce. We are not a family of golfers so I suppose it's the idea of the open spaces and well kept greens that appeal. Like most people these days we have a budget and need to get as much information up front before taking the plunge. You have already pre empted  one of our concerns which is community fees, can any one give us an idea of the fees associated with Hacienda for say a 2 bed apartment.

It's always wise to find these things out up front, I know friends of ours pay between 1,100 & 1,600e per year.  Where we live we pay 250e per year and are surrounded by mountain views and orange groves, not manicured greens I grant you but still a big difference in the price!
