San Javier Closure !!!

Has anyone heard about this story or any more on the subject.

The big story broke Monday night when the Region of Murcia announced that it had reached an agreement with Aena which would close San Javier airport to civilian traffic and transfer Aena operations to the new Corvera International Airport once all the licences were granted for the airport to open. The fallout from the announcement has been resonating all week, with politicians wading in to have their say in the battle of words which followed.

Bit of imformation on the costa almeria site about the new aiport and the closure of the other also some imformation about the rail link from the airport to Vera station near the garage and proposed to be completed in a year (which year i am not sure).

Reliable sources tell us the new airport will be operating next year, initially in tandem with the exiting one.

Regarding the high speed link, some people we know have had part of their land compulsary purchased for this and advise there is still a lot of work to be done - they calculate easily 2 years before we are anywhere near it been partly opened.

It will be brilliant when it comes, whilst we have all waited a long time for Calas you only have to look at the development and infrastructure in place now to 5 years ago and the area is definately going places - in who's lifetime we see significant changes who knows!!!

It would be nice if the train took detour to Aguilas

2016 for the rail link it says in this months focus!

wont need trains by the time they get it finished we will have them hoverboards and that....hehe
