Have just been asking about completion date for Clubhouse and the state of the Golf Course. The response, off record, that I got was that money will not be spent on the course to bring it back to a reasonable standard until the Clubhouse is complete. That completion date, by consensus, seems to be March(ish) but they hastened to add that no-one had been appointed to run it and so opening would be unlikely until the summer! Previously I had read here that the building was likely to be completed by Christmas and open for Easter.
The work on the roundabout is going ahead fast now that they have finished the work on the flood overflow area, opposite the Offices. Plenty of seating for anyone who fancies looking at the 13 drain covers on view! They really need to take on a public relations person who can advise them on what Brits like doing/need! After all it is a British resort in name and largely the list of completers! I don't know about anyone else but I haven't sat on any of the multitude of benches they have placed all around the complex. However when my son and his frineds came out, they fancied a kick around after it cooled down in the evening. Obviously the 5 a side court was locked shut so they eventully ended upon the golf course as they only bit of available grass to play on!
They have now started work on landscaping, and I assume more benches, up on the hill - Phase 4 area. Why I have no idea if it is to attract potential buyers, but I would have thought that making the visible areas look more attractive would be a better use of their limited financies. I find it strange that the banks have, we are told, taken to paying the builder of the Clubhouse direct. So where has this extra money come from? The first impressions as you drive in now are not good compared to when I first drove in nearly 2 years ago to complete. The central reservation before you get to the gatehouse is a mass of missing plants that have died and not been replaced. Then in the roundabout as you drive in, 2 out of the 7 palm trees have died etc etc etc. Their priorities are very different from mine!
Gorgeous day again today, been sunning myself on my balcony this afternoon (just for those readers suffering from cold and/or rain in the UK!).
