I contacted my solicitor to seek compensation and price reduction from Arenal due to the fact the complex is now not exclusive as stated when we agreed to purchase and for the delay. She replied saying by law Arenal have eight months from the original completion date i.e 30 September 2006 to have the first habitation licence in place. She said if Arenal have not completed by end of May 2007 (as also stated by Keith) then we can persue for compensation and interest.
My advice would be , not to cancel but hold on as we have gone this far, a few more months won' t matter and also if you did cancel you will still have to wait for your money.
Our apartment is in block 2, first floor facing block 3, entrance near the football field . We had a choice on the first floor same apartment in block 1 but the salesman from Superior Worlwide said to go for block 2 as it is a bit higher and better view to the side of the fields facing the hills. We viewed and purchased our apartment in July 2006.
