New facilities

I was on the resort at the end of may, and it looked like things were starting to happen, irish bar etc. Looked like the apartments in the spanish village were starting to sell and potentially in my mind the resort was potentially springing to life? I am considering buying a property so any advice would be most appreciated.

We have a villa on HDA and love it.
You are correct things are starting to happen in the Spanish village , sport bar , bakery , supermarket and I believe a pharmacy.
There is an Indian restaurant that has opened in Fuente Alamo also so will have to give that a go .
The resort is by far the best round and with more things opening it can only get better

You are also correct about the golf and facilities .... Both fantastic ...

Any news of the hotel opening? I think if and when this happens the resort will really take off.

No there is no news on the Hotel as yet, I and several other agents here have introduced investors to consider purchasing the hotel which is on the market for sale but as yet I believe no firm offers are under consideration.

With regards to purchasing at Hacienda del Alamo there has never been a better time with huge discounts available on new and resale properties and the latest goverrnment incentive giving a 50% tax discount on any capital gains made on the eventual sale of a property purchased between now and December 31st 2012. (problem with buying when prices are low is that you are more likely to make money when you sell).

Units are being occupied in the Spanish Village and once the Hotel is bought and opens fully, incorporating Spa and Gym facilities, the only missing link will be the proposed Paramount Park, the site of which is precisely 9 minutes from the front gate of Hacienda del Alamo. (I've timed it and didn't speed).
