Air Conditioning - Condado de Alhama - 3 bed - Ground Floor

Hi - new to this - just purchased on Condado - I have received a number of quotes on Air Conditioning install - and to be honest I'm completely lost with them all - they all claim to be the best, but vary hugely on price.

Looking to competitive installers, who are reliable, proven and offer a quality finish - Can anyone recommend anybody, has anyone any pointers regarding what I should be looking for?

My suggestion would be to go with an Inverter system, far more economical than a standard system, we use ours more during the winter months than we do during the summer months.

We also have a 3 bed, Steve at Apollo Air fitted ours in May, great job and great service. There was an issue with the installation (not his fault, a problem left by the builders) but Steve stayed until he had resolved it at no extra cost.

We had a number of (outrageous) quotes but found Steve to be very competitive.

We recommend Andy at AES, he carries out all types of electrical work including domestic appliances repairs and extractor fans Tel: 0034 617 644 339. An excellent standard of work and you won't pay through the nose.

Anybody with DIY skills can fit the lights on the ceiling as there are only 3 wires to connect!! Live (Switch Wire), Neutral and Earth!

The hardest part is getting the fixings in the ceiling! lol

You may have the same problem that we experienced with incorrect/faulty pre-installation.

Basically, there was possibly a crack in the copper 3/8 pipes and also one of the water pipes was fitted incorrectly so that it partly ran 'uphill' and we all know that water doesn't travel upwards.  Luckily we discovered this at point of installation which meant that we had to get the fault rectified by PW before we could proceed.  

This was a lengthy & annoying process but we basically got them to come back in & refit the pipes correctly.  If this work hadn't been carried out then we were told to expect dripping water & damp around the door frames.

(Sometimes if the unit hasn't been sealed properly then a small amount of gas is escaping can mean a small drip of water from the unit onto the floor.  However, your problem seems to fit the profile of the problem we had.)

Whoever installed your air-con should really have spotted the fault when the unit was fitted.  I got 2 other companies to give me a second opinion on the problem.  The first agreed with the original findings.  The second (Climazone) told me that there wasn't a problem but that they could offer me a special fitting price of 180 euros per unit if I got them to install there and then !!  Anyway when the PW engineers came in they spotted the fault & agreed to put it right.
