Hi Dave
Like most things they shrink in the cold, well bits on my body do anyway, but strangely not my stomach. However rubber and metal do, only slightly but they do. Also in the cold rubber hardens (brake pads) which makes it poor at griping to the rim of the wheel. So collectively makes the brakes not work very well. As I imagine you keep your apartment nice and cool when you are not there to preserve your provisions (beer & wine) for when you next arrive, this may well affected these elements on your bikes. However when you put them in the warmth of the sun for a while the rubber softens and the parts expand slightly and all works fine again.
Well that’s my theory anyway
You will see I have stayed away from further analgise with the body for fear of ending up back on the naughty step with you.
Phil
