We have just returned to our apartment. We have turned off the water, as recommended, when we left. We have returned - turned back on all of the taps hot and cold, but there is no hot water coming through the system. Any ideas? Hot Tap under the boiler was stiff to turn off, but it is on. Any suggestions? Or can anyone recommend a good plumber?

HI there
I know it sounds simple but make sure the water heater is plugged in and the red light at the front is on. Also here is a dial underneath which controls the temperature of the water so turn that clockwise ti increase temparture. Also make sure both stoptaps are on as one allows cold water into the bolier and the other allows it into your system. hope that helps

Hi, thanks for the reply . I have the red light on and he dial on the front of the heater is going up. I have turned both stop taps clockwise and anticlockwise. We have cold water comng out of the sinks but when you turn the taps to hot no water comes out. We have not had this problem before... Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I have turned he taps anti-clockwise under the boiler. I assume this is the correct way as all the other taps turn that way for on.Does the hot water run even though it may not be hot. Dial on front of boiler about 3/4 of he way up now.

Have you looked under the sink where the pipes come out of the wall? There might also be a tap here that needs to be open. The taps then connect via a flexible hose.

Thanks for your help. Luckily we managed to get someone out. His name is David Christopher, and the company was GDC. He was very good. We found out that the tap filters had blocked up due to the calcium in the water. If anyone else has this problem it is worth unscrewing the end of each tap and cleaning it out. The cold came through as the pressure was higher. this might save someone a day or so of cold showers and a call out fee!
