Hi, We are Lorraine and Steve and purchased our property on Dream Hiils II back in August 05 in R4.  We purchased the property through Parador.  Since August we have made a couple of visits to the area on our own accord to view progress and do some research about the surrounding area.

We purchased After Sales with Parador and found it a total waste of money!! We just wondered if anyone else has had this problem.  Since we paid for this service we have had to constantly chase them for progress reports and updates on when the property will be complete.  The initial completion date was December 31st 06.  We never heard anything so contacted them and waited and waited, then we got a reply saying the builder was running over schedule.

In February we received a letter from the builder to say that the property was now complete and to contact parador to sort out the legalities of handing the property over to us.  We are now coming the end of March and after contacting after sales several times we are still waiting and havnt heard from them for about 5 weeks.

Has anyone else completed and got keys for their property or dealt with Parador and if so what has your experience been like we are curious to find out whether it was just a wast of £475  or are we just being impatient???

However, we have looked at some of the photos on the message board and the complex does seem to be coming together well and are really looking forward to getting over there and meeting other buyers and forming a community.  Excited really but just getting impaitent with all the waiting around.

Look forward to hearing from you

Lorraine and Steve.

Hi Lorraine and Steve,

I agree it is the waiting which really gets to you! I am buying through MASA and was given the same completion date as you. From what I have been able to find out it is just the first habitation license and the builders 10 year guarantee certificate which are holding most people up. I think some are moving in without these, but I have been warned tthat this is unadvisable because without it you would be unable to sell at a later date. This is probably why the bank would not release the mortgage money too.

Hi Jules

Thanks for that, we were getting a bit worried in terms of why its taking so long.  Thats a useful piece of information about the habitation licence and builders guarantee certificate.

I suppose its a learning curve for the future if we want to buy another property although this definately would not be through Parador, feels like they got the money then went into silent mode!!!

Thanks again

Lorraine and Steve

I would expect the ones moving in without the habitation licence are not looking to sell in the short term with the community up and running for 409-551 hopefully the administrator can chase things for us all

Hola Lo and Stevie,

We are buying on R4 through MASA and bought in July 06, and we have been waiting an eternity, so you have been waiting a year longer and it must seem an awful long time in comparison. When we bought we had a choice of Jan 07 or Aug 07 completion on the same block - quite a difference!

R4 looks like it is nearing completion, if you view postings from owners throught the forum. Our property is "complete" although it is a couple of months late, and probably will be another few weeks still. MASA provided us with regular progress reports which we could view on the internet and contact with our personal assistant has meant our after sales service has beeen money well spent, although we have learned to be patient, though I don't know too much about parador. The recent fluctuations in the Euro are even working in our favour, so it could actually be ok to be late! There are a number of people going out over Easter, so if you send a private message, or make a plea through this or a new thread, I am sure someone will check up on the property for you and let you know how close things are. If you haven't yet seen the video website, have a look! We are not moving in but finalising some details such as NIE, furniture, bank account, power of attorney etc, and would be only to happy to check on your property for you, and report back on the general status. Talking to forum members has given us confidence and the necessary patience to believe in the dream and my advice to you would be to make contact with as many members as possible and go through the many postings to get a "feel" for what is going on. For example, how far down the line are you with NIE, bank accounts, furniture etc? There are so many willing helpers that will provide you with an "after sales service" second to none!

Hi Three Amigos!

Thanks for the info, sounds like MASA afer sales are better than ours!!  Having said that after sales did help us arrange our NIE numbers which we have, mortgage, bank accounts etc, its just the lack of communication and waiting that is hardest.  We have been in our property in November 06 the last time we were there. We managed to find the site manager and he gave us the keys to have a quick look inside and it was almost finished so that was good to see. We have looked at the photos and the site seems to be really coming together and we are looking forward to it being finished and up and running.

Hopefully we can get out there real soon and get it all sorted and then it will be all ours.  Although looking at the prices of some of the flights doesnt look like we will get much of a bargain. And I'm a real bargain hunter when it comes to flights, i lik the ones for 0.01p!!!!!

We were given a provisional date of March 12 for the builder to sort the paper work out, doesnt seem to have happened though as we are still waiting.  We have had the final progress report and some photos of the property but when i looked harder it wasnt actually our property!! Never mind, as least we have seen it and been in it which was exciting.

We will get there in the end.  This time next year these problems will all seem like a distant memory and we will be catching some sunrays from the solarium........I hope.!!!!!

Lo & Stevie

At first buying with parador we felt confident in the company as a whole , but nearly two years on and we have noticed the cracks to appear , the after service is disappointing and even though it was not at the time a "hardsell" we realise that the rep didnt half give us some old tosh about the estate agents taking our apartment of our hands and gauranteeing us twenty weeks per annum rental at an agreed price blah blah blah , ** EDITED ** - Conflicting terms or use
