We visited here last time we were in spain to view apartments but the agent didnt have the correct keys so didnt actually get to see inside!!! yep plonker agent !
The resort was like a ghost town....1st week in oct 2012. Shops etc were shut?
Can people living here please comment on what the resort is like?
Are the properties well built?
Majority of apartments looked empty?
How many bars and restaurants are there ?
Thanks

Forget La Torre, take a look at Hacienda Riquelme. Lovely resort, well spaced apartments, great local village, historic hacienda, supermarket, bar, restaurant, 19 pools - beautiful. (yours, biased owner)

Hacienda Riquelme DEAD ZONE MOST OF THE YEAR, La Torre has a much better feel to the place, more people on the resort live on the resort full time because it has a better mix of properties with villas, townhouses, apt unlike hrgr which onlly apts and many of them have never been owned, now the banks are giving them away, 40k plus.

Even if you go to La Torre mid summer it resembles a ghost town with most of the properties having blinds down and closed for most of the year. The restaurants/pubs aren't normally open for a lot of the year.

WRONG WRONG WRONG, La Torra has bars that are open all year round, Woodhouse bar opens every day and has done ever since the resort was built, same goes with the Irish bar opens every night and has done from day one, The hotel has got bars&restaurants that the public can use. The italian restaurants is also open, Pinos bar is open every night,, as for properties empty, the townhouse on the resort have the bedrooms on the roadside so the shutters on a lot of properties do not get open, and it the same for the apts.So La Torre has much more to offer than most of the ghost town as you call them iF YOU OWN ON SIERRA GOLF I CAN SEE WHAT YOU MEAN. Please tell me a resort that has more to offer than La Torre.

If you are looking to buy a property on a golf resort then forget any of these mentioned so far in this thread. All soulless and dead. Just look at how many comments there are on this forum, hardly any which signifies the amount of interest there is from existing owners. Better to go to Condado De Alhama, the only one with any community spirit and life about the place. Also any resort that is still controlled by Polaris will be expensive to live in and will be strangled by high prices in bars and restaurants where they have the monopoly. That's why they are frequently closed. JF

What about Mar Menor Golf Resort? Shops, bars and hotel open all year round. The first and most matured out of all the original resorts and Polaris World have no involvement or own anything on the resort.
