Yes, the Mighty Eagles are on their way to Wembley! That was so sweet beating Brighton last night! Now, we're just one step away from the Premiership, come on you Eagles!

When I saw the name of this thread, I thought someone had spotted Eagles (the Large Birds) over Condado, I do know they have some in the Murcia region.

I also though, albeit a long shot, that the band from the 70's were playing at the Clover this weekend.

Never in my wildest dreams did I expect this thread to be about a second rate football team, or I wouldnt have clicked on!  Isnt there a thread specially for football comments?

Oops! This was supposed to go on the Football Forum page, sorry! I do however object to the Mighty Palace being marked as a second rate team, especially as Bolton didn't even make the play offs!

What about if we class Bolton as a third rate team, as it appears they are worse than your eagle team? Is that fair?

Right here goes! In the Championship the top two teams are automatically promoted to the Premiership. The teams who finished in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th then qualify for the playoffs. Each team plays two legs, home and away. The two winners of those legs then compete at Wembley and the winners of that are promoted to the Premiership. It makes for a very exciting end to the season! Bolton are still in the championship as they didn't make the playoffs but that doesn't class them as a 3rd rate team or anyone else for that matter. If you talk about fairness, then Watford should win as they came 3rd in the league, but hopefully being a Palace supporter that won't happen!

Eagles is our nickname, the club is actually called Crystal Palace!

One step at a time Dave, I have just been out and ordered my Crystal Palace Strip.

Turns out Crystal Palace is down south, attending home games will cost me a fortune if fuel. Unless they remain in the Championship, then I can go watch them play Bolton next season!
