I read the other week that outside painting was going to happen. We were going to have our pergola redone but if the work s imminent we will hold off. Does anyone know if this is going to happen?

The painting of all the apartments is not going to start anytime soon!
There maybe some emergency painting done on apartments where they are looking extremely weather beaten and tatty but in general terms there is no programme in place to start painting ALL the apartments.
Hope this helps amswer your question.

Andy,
Why are the community doing "weather beaten and tatty" ones? Surely this is penialising those of us that spend our money and did our own and rewarding those too lazy to do so? The community should either do everyones or only the ones in communal areas i.e the penthouses. I have a number of letters from ML saying that their lawyers have deemed tha the pergolas are private so why the change ot heart now?

Read the bit where it says EMERGENCY in my post!
painting also includes communal areas where it is damaged "Weather Beaten" or "Tatty".
Nothing has yet been decided on where this will start but I am sure all will be informed when it it is decided!
I will no longer post on here on anything to do with the resort and will stick to the football thread!
Hope this helps!!

"rofl" @ chaddy owl..............
I have heard of many types of emergency, but what is an "emergency paint job"; the only thing I can think of is someone with the right connections getting their battery cage painted for free whist everyone else has to pay!!!!!!
You probably will not answer as you have "thrown your rattle out of your pram" because someone has challenged you.......

Not painting the apartments is madness. They will obviously deteriorate over time and the longer they are left the worse they will get and the MORE EXPENSIVE it will be to put them right. There are only two ways to go - 1. Leave it to owners to organise it or themselves (as many are now doing) the downside to that being multicoloured shades of white, 2. Organise it on a community basis, where a substantial discount could be obtained for the volume, and it's all done on a consistent basis.
Will it cost money, yes of course it will but that's one of the joys of owning a property. Adding something to the community charge to pay for it to be done every four or five years is the easiest way to do it. I just cannot understand why this is not part of the community budget.

I completely agree with you Jeb about far more cost effective and getting a uniform look to have it done through the community but I think with units not paying their community charges etc that it's probably just easier for me to get my purse out and get it sorted. I do not want my place to start looking tatty - I want to enjoy it and keep it looking nice - not just for me but for my fellow neighbours too.
thanks for the input on this.
