Train Tickets

We are back at tdlt in a few days and as a change to driving had planned to take the train from Balsicas to Murcia. Can anyone advise on what's the way to get the tickets, buy in advance online or get them on the day from the ticket office?

Hello everyone.

I have been using the train from Balsicas on a regular basis, depending upon your age you can buy all your tickets from the station itself if over 60 take your passport and buy O.A.P. Pass for 5 euro 20 cents this entitles you to a reduction of 40 percent Monday to Thursday and 25 percent Friday to Saturday.

i have recently been to Madrid direct from Balsicas on a very comfortable train with great scenery  for 60 euros return.

To help others, we finally bought the tickets directly at the station, it was straightforward and the same price as on line. I suggest writing down the fares and train numbers you want to use, then show them at the ticket office as he spoke little English. To get the good tourist fares you do need to go on specific trains. It cost just over 11€ for the two of us return from Balsicas to Murcia. The old city, by the river is about 5-10 minutes walk from murcia station.
