I think it may have been AENA itself instigating the survey or perhaps local groups, not sure.
Many locals would like San Javier to remain open, there really is NO demand for international or indeed many more flights, more accommodation to be found nearer Alicante with 15 times the passengers to MJV.
Corvera will take a good 35-40 Minutes from Roda or LA compared to 10 to MJV or 60 to ALC.
As there is far less holiday Home accommodation or hotels near us, why on earth would anyone subsidise flights into Corvera so ALC likely to be more competitive pricing for the sake of 20 mins more travelling.
Where is the sense or demand for Corvera coming from?
No Paramount, if there ever was.
If AENA close MJV and they can’t make money out of Corvera, they could retreat all back to ALC, makes far more sense for them long term.
