hi

I bought off plan in phase 1 back in 2003 and have seen the site develop over the years.

In general Gama have been pretty good but it helps to get to know the site foremen and if you can speak to them in Spanish they'll always help you!

Friends of ours are in the building game and construction techniques are very good so properties should wear well.

it would be handy to have a small bar on the other side of the hill as unless you want to drive bonalba complex is a bit of a walk, especially on the way back if you've had a few:)

The bulk of purchases are now by locals which in turn should make the area more secure as the romanians tend to visit sites where the bulk of properties lie empty for periods of time. You should get grills fitted to unsecured windows and patio doors. On the main st in Campello there is a shop who specialise in this.

Duncan

I also bought 4 years ago, stil waiting to see shops and a bar , though ive been told they are planning them in the next phase, also a school, which wil bring in more locals. I do think it wil help with resales as these properties wont only appeal to brits and tourists.

Hi everyone

1st post im afraid. In response to the shops on the development, we purchased our property on phase 6 about 3 years ago. We have been asking GAMA about the commercial center since purchase, as I am interested in actually purchasing one prior to relocating to Spain for good. We have been told it will be on the 'next phase' for the last 3 years, so I wouldn't hold my breath. Must admit, I haven't heard anything about a school before. I don't actually think GAMA themselves have any idea what they are going to build and where. You hear too many conflicting stories.

What is everyones opinion on the Black House now under condtruction......

Looks completely out of place to me,

In response also to Dunc's comment on the grilles on the doors, I completely agree with him. Also worth pointing out that the ferreteria on the main street also speaks very good English if needed. Another thin to be warey of, make sure you dont lock yourselves out by leaving your keys inside and closing the front door behind you. Had to drill my lock out when this happened to me. Also the lock barrels are a strange length and I had to go th Alicante for a replacement. Now fitted an exterior door handle so it can't happen again..

I do understand what you are saying there are lots of rumours going around, it may be some time before the shops come.        Its not helped with the fact that the building work has slowed down now due to the market being flat. I think it is realy bad that they have built the big black house. Im told its a director of gama that has had it built, there  alaw unto then slves, i do think the spainish who have houses close to it are up in arms, its worse for them

With regards to the Black Monstrosity we are almost opposite it and have lost a lot of our view from the solarium  I understand it is the developers son who is having the property built and I am sure his neighbours will make him very welcome!!!  I for one will let him have my snagging list as no one else seems to want it!!!!

With regards to the front doors we nearly got locked out as we forgot to take a key out from the inside and put the key on the outside lock and it wouldn't open.  Managed to get some English builders to wiggle it about and get us back in.

I do wish the Spanish weren't so fond of the awful green stuff on the fences, our neighbours have put stuff up which doesn't reach to the end of the fence or the bottom, looks awful and has completely blocked our view of the sea from the terrace.   I am also sick of listening to the dogs barking all the time.

So what with Black Monstrosities and fencing we cant see a lot anymore! and with the dogs we are needing ear plugs.  However still love the house and the area and at  least  the sun shines!!!

I have noticed your part of the development is very popular with the spainish. Our villa is on the first phase, but we have a few spainish there too. The way i see it, if we come to sell in the future at least it will appeal to a wider market, with Spainish and English both interested in the area.

Did anyone have a problem with the rain last week. We have been told our villa had leeks and it has put our electric out of use, also some large bolders have fallen onto the patio. Our friends who take care of our place have had realy big problems , there downstairs was all flooded

We also had leaks from the rain and so did a good few of our neighbours. We left on the morning after the rain and were fortunate enought to be able to clear up before we went.  It seems to have come in from the chimneys and apparently a few of the Spanish have now set to with some interesting remedial works!!!  These include duck tape and polythene.  I think that if so many of us have had problems perhaps it is a design fault and down to the developer.

Apparently part of the communal swimming pool surround has also collapsed so it will be interesting to see how long it takes them to fix it.  We do have a lot of Spanish where we are and I think they will probably nag the builder to get something done.
