On the photos page, submitted by Hannah Thompson dated 10 th April 2007. On picture number four a TV mast and satellite dish can be clearly seen. Does anyone know if our properties are going to have a shared TV System?

See the other posts and pics in construction photos, I am still unsure myself about how you go about connecting to the common satellite dish. Also it depends at which satellite it is pointing to on what channels you can obtain, probably explains why the 3 dishes on the roof of block 8 all seem to point in different directions.

Here is the reply from Micromesh:
Hello Mr Smith
The price of connection is €490 with a monthly fee of €19 which is payable by direct debit. There is however a special offer on at the moment – if you pay for the year in advance the cost of subscription is €180, a saving of approx €50.
The package is a standard package consisting of 48 digital channels, including the English terrestrial channels and Sky Sports, Setanta etc. If you would like to see all the channels listed please look at our website – www.micromesh.tv
Best Regards

I am looking at buying a satellite decoder in the UK, Lidl have one on offer at mo. for about £40.00 and trying it out in Spain, if this is connected to the communal satellite dish on our roof, which is pointing at the Astra Satellite, you should be able to get the FTA (free to Air) channels, without ANY subscription charges, and NO connection charged (con be the operative word) unsure of the channels as yet but you should be able to get all the uk fta. The only thing I don't know is how the satellite signal is ported through to the apartment. I didn't get chance to look at the wall sockets in the lounge properly, perhaps if someone can report back who has some experience or knowledge of how this is done it would be very helpful. I don't know much about satellite at the moment but I'm learning!
Are there any satellite 'experts' out there????
Regards

Having just come back from the apartment armed with my satellite receiver and lots of bits and pieces I managed to connect to the communal dish.
The signal comes in from the TV socket and can be either split via the receiver (if it has a 'through' connection) or as I did used a TV/sat splitter (bought for about £3,00 on Ebay) incidentally If you use the splitter then you don't need the receiver to be on all the time in order to get the TV. That's the good news! The bad news is that it points to the ASTRA satellite at 18.2E, that's great of you are of none english origins, German, French etc. NO english stuff on there apart from BBC world.
Given that we have no control over where this dish points to (You need to pull down the channels from ASTRA 28.2 E for the Free to Air english channels) you are stuck with garbage. The answer is to put up your own dish, I am in the midst of doing this and have so far put up the mount and cabled down to our floor, then I had to go home (I started all this on the last day of our hol) I am at the stage of getting the cable from the corridor into the apartment through the corrugated trunking, it is a very slow labourious job get it through, Jose Morato, was very helpful in this respect, I will finish off the installation on my next trip out (Jan 2008)
I bought all the kit from Bricohouse for less than 125 Euros just to give you an idea of the price. Incidentally the roof is getting very crowded now with dishes and there is not much room for many more, I'll give more info if anyone wants any advice on this topic. I will post some info more when I've got it up and running.

Having trawled through a few different forums I have been left with the opinion that Carrefours after sales is not very good. I ended up buying my TV from Millars up at the Punta Marina commercial centre. They delivered and for a few euros more bolted it on the wall.

Hi
I have installed my tv package through torresatelit.tv
Check them out, their office is along at Playa Flamenca (5 min drive), they will advise you if your block (we are in block 8) is ready for the install, get the go ahead from the management people and install within a few days. Cost is reasonable and includes first year subscription. The package includes bbc1-4, itv 1-4, sky sports 1-3, sky news, couple of sky movies, nat geographic, histort, UK Gold etc. .... just as good as being in the UK.
I found them excellent. We took our portable TV down till we purchase a TV but look around for deals, Millars are good but we came across a fabulous deal in the Torrevieja shopping complex behind Carrefour. There is an electrical outlet on the ground floor who were offering Sony Bravia TV 's at give away prices, The offer was only on for one day but its worth keeping your eyes open.

Thanks so much for that.Did you e-mail your community president and ask for permission? I need to do that as soon as possible I think.Where in playa flamenca is the T.V. place? is it at the commercial cente?.We are in bloque 1 and our neighbours have t.v so it should be o.k.Eachtime we come out we end up enjoying ourselves far too much to see about the T.V.Hope everyone is having a good time at the moment, many thanks.

Hi, yes the TV place is in the Commercial Centre in Playa Flamenca 2nd floor. The staff will contact the Administrator on your behalf, you have nothing to do at all, and it should be installed within 48hrs.
Happy viewing (you'll soon be a couch potatoe).
Any idea what's happened to the water features? there was no water in any of them the last time we were out in April.
