Altho it is marked as 4th Week of Photos, the date on the photos appears to be 23 May.

Sorry Sandra, Photo 15 looks remarkably like some sort of crane. Doesnt it ?

Captain007,

THAT is not a crane!!!

It is an hydraulic lifting device.

The last crane to be taken down was sited near the front of the townhouses which face west. It was green or blue in colour and much, much higher.

The one you point out is a mere stripling of a device for lifting workmens supplies, paint, doors etc., up to the higher floors more conveniently than the stairs.

Now stop tormenting me Captain007 and let me get on with the mountain of ironing I'm wading through!!

Sorry Sandra - see below:

"Crane = a tall machine with a long arm, used to lift and move building materials and other heavy objects" Oxford Dictionary.

You cant wriggle out of this one inspite of your mountain of ironing. Your (small) crane is still on site !!!

Captain007,

The ironings done!

Now back to that 'Crane'.

The 'Genie gth 4017' is made by Genie Industries Inc. and is marketed as a 'Telehandler' (telescopic handler)

It has many applications one being that it can be used as a crane, and also as a hoist, a scraper, for towing and also tranporting materials around a construction site.

Would you call a Swiss army knife a corkscrew? Of course not. It is a tool in it's own right, and everyone knows it has many applications.

Therefore the machine is a telehandler and NOT a crane.

Is it an old copy of the OE dictionary? If so it may not list telehandlers.

GTH-4017

A "workhorse"  for the construction industry.

Sandra - do I read this correctly? You will be taking in ironing?

How fab, I hate ironing and am so pleased you will be available, no doubt for a small fee, but thats fine, you can do mine when you are out here resting from the trials and tribulations of life in the UK.

I will be working in Marbella again in July so will pop in and check on progress again.  After Marbella trip/work  I am off to Pamplona for the running of the bulls and for some reason that I cannot now recall I have agreed to run with them but I may well chicken out and await the beef delicacies in the local restaraunts instead. I was in Seville last week and "El Stragonov Del Torro" (from the local bullfight) is good beyond belief. Not PC I know but hey, we are in Spain......

Tom

Tom,

Now don't you start!

The only 'pressing' engagement I will have in Spain is with a book, a sunbed and an umbrella!

Tom, what is your understanding of the 'gated' community feature of our development?   Where will the gate be situated and what type of fence. The road which runs around the development ( Calle Madrid) belongs to Mijas Golf Urbanisation and so I cannot envisage where the fence will be. One contributor to this board also mentioned a video entry system, we also were told about this.

Also a deep and wide ditch has been dug along the rear boundary wall of our block (6, third block in from the sales office). Lourdes said it was a security feature but I cannot remember seeing it on any of the plans or scale model. I never noticed if these ditches were being dug elsewhere.

Take care on your trip to Pamploma! I don't want to hear of  "El Stragonov Del Tom" being dished up at the local eateries. That would be tough news to swallow. Let them catch the chickens!

Tom,

You must be psychic!!

Another sandra, sandra2, has registered onthe EOS  'La Condesa' board, and she does ironing- for a fee. What's more she'll also do your cleaning.

You needn't lift a finger!!
