Hi All

Just out of interest, met with a couple of friends who have had a place in Rojales for about 4 years - we wanted to talk about running costs etc.  They have a 3 bedroom apartment and estimate their running costs at approximately 1200 euros a year (excluding mortgage payments).

Have also advised that it would be a good idea to get an independant solicitor to look after your interests (ensure bills etc are paid on time) if you are not living out there. 

Have told us that we need to get a solicitor to act as a "fiscal representative" this gives them the ability to pay money out of your account and pay bills etc.  They pay approximately 400euros a year for this service.  They are going to let us have details of their solicitors - if any one is interested let me know I will post it on the website when I have info.

I have used the solicitor that is dealing with my apartment to pay all the bills out of my spanish bank account, I  give him power of eturney when i was last out there by doing this he can pay all your bills saving you a fortune on plane fares - he as the power to sign forms for you and take money out of your spanish bank to pay all your bills you just need to keep topping your bank account up

My solicitor is Rodas Consulting they are in Torrevieja they was very good with me his receptionist was brill she took us everywhere and pushed in so we got to front of cue's everywhere we went, We actually had a nice day out we walked all over because is was quicker to do all the paperwork that day
