Signed at the Notary on the 6th, same day as Roger & Fran who are a lovely couple. When you collect your keys from the Sales Office you get your Masa clubcard and two bottles of red wine and two glasses in a presentation box as a moving in gift.
Here's the update:-
We did'nt have many snags, just a few paint touch ups inside and one on the outside at the back of the house. These were sorted before we got our keys. They don't repaint all the outside again, just make good where necessary. All the wall sockets and light switches were crooked but Steve just straightened them himself.
Electricity and water are on builders supplies at the moment and the street lights are not on yet. Apparently Murcia Town Hall have told Grupo Masa to make minor alterations, mainly safety features, and when these have been passed by the Inspector the habitation certificates will be granted. Proper water and electricity connections should be about four weeks after that.
The final layer of tarmac has now been laid on the main road in and the road around the green area. Some roads still have no pavements and others are waiting to have the silver sand brushed in.
We shopped around for our white goods. We bought a fridge/freezer from a shop in Balsicas for 326 Euros and a combination oven and halogen hob from Los Alcazares for 370 Euros. It's better to buy the combination oven and hob as there is only one power point at the back of the oven. Steve fit ours but Roger paid us a visit before we left last night and told us about the good deal he had received from a shop in San Javier, oven/hob, fride/freezer, washing machine, delivery and fitting all for 950 Euros. He will probably give you the information when he returns next Tuesday. Be careful when you buy the ovens, where they have placed the power point means some ovens will not go all the way back, we had to buy a junction box and move it nearer the top and to the side.
We have heard that the commercial building will hold a Kwik Save supermarket, BBVA Bank and Bar on the ground floor and an Indian restaurant on the top floor (Star of India). Some of you may be happy with that, personally I'm not as I don't like spicy food, I would have preferred a restaurant that caters for everyone.
We also met another two couples, who have not been on EOS, John and Ann (Open on the green) and Ray and Ann (Eagle in the row next to our Open) they were both brilliant and really good company. Ray and Ann are actually staying in their house until they go back home next Tuesday and were the only ones on site at night until more signed at the Notary on the 13th.
We made our Spanish Wills and signed them at the Notary's on the same day. It's not law to have them but it's advisable to cover your Spanish assets.
Think I've covered everything, if not just ask.
Elaine & Steve
