Hola, Como estas?

Hi All, Am I the only person in the Mojon Hills Forum?  If this is the silliest question ever please be patient as this is my first visit to the site and I keep being redeirected to ever more confusing areas.

Anyway.  Can anyone tell me how the development is progressing and where can I get up to date pictures?

Gracias, Hasta Luego!

I don't think you are the only person, I just found 4 pages of messages, but now I think that was a mirage, as I can't find them again! I posted this message below somewhere -

Hello people - it's so good to find this site and some other people who have bought at Mojon Hills! We found it way back in June 2004 and bought a 2-bed apartment on Phase 2, Block 1 (1st floor), and I have been worrying about my fantastic sea view ever since, ie. will it ever actually materialise? In fact, will the building ever materialise. At least it's comforting to know that there are other people out there wondering the same things! We were originally led to believe that ours would be finished round about May LAST YEAR - what a joke! Luckily we have no plans to move out there - just as well eh?

It will be great to see any photos that anyone might take, as I can't see any recent relevant ones on the Atlantia site - maybe I'm not looking in the right place.

We have had a couple of years now wondering about this solicitor problem - to use one (I'd definitely go for Spanish, but which one?) or to go with a gestor (we met one who claims that they have to go to the notary for you anyway to check that the solicitor has done everything correctly!). As for the NIE - you have to actually apply for it in person anyway, so why pay someone? We achieved this in a very quick trip to Cartagena - mind you the agent then forgot that they had agreed to pick it up for us, but we got there in the end!

Sorry this is a bit long, but I can't believe there' other people out there! And by the way, HOW did you get them to come up with any projected completion dates at all??

Hello,

We have just got back from Mojon Hills after being shown around the site for the first time yesterday, (its now Sunday 14th Jan 2007) we are very interested in purchasing a top floor apartment in phase 3 overlooking the pool.

After being delighted with it all yesterday, we have come back to the UK and need to think practically.

Is anyone else buying a top-floor apart ment in type C with a 'tower' on the solarium? If so, how are you going to cope with no wardrobe in the second bedroom? Space seems to be cramped!!??

We currently have the apartment 'held' and so any feedback people can give would be appreciated as we need to lay down a deposit by Tuesday if we want to go ahead.

One odd question I have, the apartments on the ground floor, are they one floor or two? I simply cant remember!

Also, any further feedback people can give us?

If we buy we are very much looking forward to being part of the community, however wont be living there full time, mostly weekends throughout the year.

I took a few pictures of the site yesterday if anyone is interested, I cant see how to upload them on to this site!!??

davidric@hotmail.com

Thanks,

David.

Hi David,

Myself and my husband have purchased on Phase 2.  We are on the middle floor with 3 bedrooms.  All bedrooms have wardrobes built in.  The ground floor are on one floor only.  We too looked at the top floor with solarium, however, my only concern was that would we actually use the top floor (for the extra money they were asking), and also you loose some of the terrace for the stairs to go up.  I dont know about yours, but our 2nd bedroom has patio doors so you can sit out the front.

We too are using ours for a 'holiday home' long weekends etc and can't wait for it to be completed.  Hopefully it will be at the end of the summer (maybe).

You will also find some more posting under Mojon Hills photos for some reason.

Regards

Sarah

For information Mark no longer works for Atlantia, I am sure that he will be missed by Atlantia and purchasers alike. I understand that a replacement has been recruited and  that training is taking place. In the meantime Lyndsay and Oscar are effectively doing three jobs between them. This should make the Fase 1 handover period interesting.

We have just received photos of the development from Atlantia. It looks good, we can't wait to go and see for ourselves! 4 weeks today we will be out there. It looks as though our house has walls now, and nearly a roof. I see from this thread that Phase 2 release might be at the end of the year, does anyone know how accurate that is? We were originally told it would be Sept 06, they would have to go some to get it all finished by Septh this year.

Anyone from this forum want to meet up for a pint in August? We will be there from the 7th to the 29th and would like to meet future neighbours.

Hi All,

We have the keys now for our apartment on phase one.  I will upload photos a little later.  We managed to get furniture in most of the rooms before we had to come home, just one bedroom empty...The dining room table failed to arrive in time as did the unit to put the TV on butwe have two outside tables and no tv so it doesn't much matter...

I have left a set of keys with some friends in the port, so,  if anyone wants to rent the aprtment and experience 'Mojon Hills living' then just drop me a line and we can work out prices etc.  I have listed the apartment for rent on this site but I have no idea how you view it.  If the administartor is reading this please let us know how to view rental property...

The air conditioning is in and works great.  We didn't go for a furniture pack and chose items separately so have lots of knowledge about this now through experience.  Our friends are also offering rental deals for as low as 12.5% commission which I believe is the cheapest in the area.  I have heard of 25 and 30 % from some companies so shop around if you are thinking of going down the rental route.  I will try and get them to advertise on this site in the near future.

Also went to see the gun battery on the way to Cartegena and was amazed that most of it is still intact.  Really worth seeing despite the grafitti supplied by those of a narrower outlook.  La Aozia's tower was also worth seeing but definately NOT for those who don't like hieghts.  The wall at the top is very low and the stairs are quite tricky but the views are fantastic.

OK, I'll upload some photos for you all now, including some good shots I took off the hill behind phase four.

Kind Regards

Keith

Hi

Great to hear that SOMEONE has some keys at last - CONGRATULATIONS! How did the handover and 'snagging' go? We are sitting here still with no further news on when Phase 2 will be ready - has anyone had any news? It is getting very frustrating as it is impossible to make plans for the winter, and affects so many other things! It will be really helpful to have your advice on things you have done so far. Where did you go to purchase your air-conditioning unit, for example? I guess you have lots to do, but please keep us updated, and enjoy your place!

Best wishes

Leigh

Hi Leigh,

Good to hear from you.  From what we were told when we visited at the end of July was that phase two would be released at the end of the year.  We also heard from someone else at Atlantia that it would be released in summer 2008!  I would expect the latter based on our experience of phase one....

One thing you will be able to look forward to is the high quality finish of the gardens, pools and infrastucture.  They have done such a good job.   You will probably need to have a 'builders clean' done when you get the keys though as the apartments are very (and I do mean VERY) dirty when they are handed over.  We foolishly decided to clean ours ourselves and it took two days!  A three bed is about 150 ~ 200 euros depending on solerium size and it is a bargain.

As I have mentioned, we bought our apartment as a rental investment so it is available to all buyers on the Mojon Hills development.  In the apartment will be a catalogue of everything we bought right down to knives and forks.  It will include price, supplier details and a summery of the service and product supplied.  You will also be able to 'live' with the furniture and see what you need to change unlike us, who had to buy 'blind'and as a consequence, made mistakes.  We will also be offering soon, a rental service for those buyers who wish to generate income revenue from their apartment or villa at Mojon Hills.  This came about because there wasn't a single rental agent in the area that we felt confident to leave our keys with.  Some couldn't be bothered to return phone calls, others seemed to have created their pricing structure using a blindfold and a pin!  Nikki and I have been renting out property in Englend for seven years and, if we operated at the standards we encountered in Spain, we wouldn't have lasted seven months.  Just send me your email address on the private message link and I will send you details when they are sorted out.

Aircon we bought from Atlantia.  We chose the Fujitsu unit with inverter technology because it is much cheaper to run and quite quiet compared to some.

I would say that renting a car is essential, especially now the new toll road is open.  It is wonderful.  The Spanish won't use it because it costs 4.75 euros so it is completely empty and relaxing.  Also don't make the mistake (yes another one...) of hiring a very small car if you plan on visiting IKEA or doing any other motorway driving.  We ordered a ford KA but got given a Chevvy Matiz which had a top speed of 105 KMH before the steering wheel became irrelavent.  The motorway speed limit is 120 KMH which the Spanish take as a minimum speed, so we ended up with juganaughts constantly filling the rearview mirror blasting us with horns and lights to encourage us to drive faster.  It was very frustrating.

Ok then.  I hope you all get your keys soon and that your phases turn out as spectacular as phase one.

Kind Regards

Keith & Nikki

To All

We have just completed on a Fase 1 apartment and are pleased with the quality of the finishes etc.

The biggest disappointment is the constant noise from the digger(s) who have started on Fase 4 at the back of us, the diamond tipped rock breakers generally operate from 8am to 7pm with a couple of hours break, possibly less in the winter months as it gets darker

Fase 4 seems to extend around the back of all the other fases so I would suggest that you have this to come for some time.

Whether those intending to rent will be able to find tenants with this work going on has yet to be seen, the sequence of build does not seem to be locigal as we all be close to fase 4 and (if it goes ahead) fase 5 until their completion

Hello

I am a new member to this site but purchased on phase 3A back in Feb 2005. As this phase is not likely to be handed over until summer 2008 I am now looking for somewhere to rent, ideally on Mojon Hills, from Feb 2008 until ours is ready. Does anyone have a two bed place available on phase 1 or 2?

Does anyone have the latest info on when Atlantia say it will be ready?

Regards

Eric A
