Hi All,
We just got back after spending a week in Los Alcazares, the hotel we stayed in was called Costa Narejos , the rooms were huge and the hotel was very handy for getting around, only ten mins. by car from the site. The only down side was the food, not a great choice but we used that to our advantage as we needed to lose some weight anyway and with all the lovely walks around the Mar Menor we have come back fitter and healthier than on any other holiday.
We met the lovely Alan and Sheila who was very kind to us, they took us under their wing for the day giving us loads of good advice and took us for a site visit meeting some of our new neighbours, everyone we met was very friendly, then we went off to their house and had one of Sheila's fab capachinos, all in all a great day.
On the Sunday we went to the site and managed to get through the fence, there was not a soul about so we had a good old nosey, we found our house no bother no.66 manzana 5 and although we could not get in to it (it had no steps) we did manage to get in to one of the new ones, all I can say is fantastic, the living room is much bigger with no jutting out pillars just a good size square room, I was very impressed and both bedrooms upstairs are the same size now which is great, I was furnishing it all in my head. It also looks as though they will be ready before July but they still have to put in the roads ect., so who knows.
On the Monday we went to Murcia and it took us exactly 20 mins from Los Alcazares, for our NIE no's, we were in and out in 5 mins. which was great , as its not a place you want to hang around. The next day we met with our agent Medsea for a site visit which was a complete waste of time, she was not able to answer anything we put to her, fortunatly Alan and Sheila had already answered everything we needed to know, it makes you wonder what these agents are getting paid for.
If anyone is going out soon the best day to get on the site is Sunday when no one is about, just follow the road from the office and look for the hole in the fence and as long as you dont abuse it I think they turn a blind eye.
We are now back home with snow on the hills and freezing temperatures and cant believe we were in shorts a few days ago, roll on our next trip, good luck to all who are moving in on December
Best wishes
Nan & Ewen
