All is very quiet in the forum at the moment.  Come on we need feedback.  Is the supermarket open yet?  If so what's it like.  Is Happy Days still going strong (ish).  Whats the situation on the Electric now has anything improved at all?

Supermarket is open.  Larger than I thought it would be.  Sells the usual plus frozen, cleaning materials, washing powder, and a few fresh fruit and vegatables.  Open every day as far as I could make out.  Great addition to the development but no competition with Mercadonna etc.

Happy Days is still going strong and seems well patronised.  Great meeting place. Food good and service friendly!

Hair dresser and beauty salon also just opened.

Green area were being cleared and prepared  for completion.

Paid my money and got my electric back.  This will be offset against final total.

Paperwork seems to be coming along.  Promised Escritura by July 30th (before the Spanish summer break)  Here's hoping!!

Hi

We have just returned from a weeks stay at El Trampolin and can confirm that the hairdressers and beauty salon is open.

The supermarket however, is no more! neither is the car rental place.

Happy Days was very busy and I understand that the furniture shop will soon be an Indian restaurant.

The furniture place is definately not going to be an indian as we all thought.  Trampolin want alot of cash to divide the unit into 2 and the indian man cannot afford it.  He is hoping to have the supermarket, although Antonio is against this!!!!   We are awaiting Antonios  final reply to this idea.  Everyone else is for it.  We now believe Happy Days is doing an Indian curry night!!

Will keep you all posted.

Thanks for the update. The supermarket didn't last very long!

Keep us posted. It's really good to get news when you are not out there.

Apparently the supermarket was run by  a Russian guy who never thought to advertise so consequently got little business. The others are doing very little trade at the moment as ithey do not get any passing trade.

I believe the car rental unit is going to be a curtain/bedding outlet.

We were all looking forward to the Indian Restaurent coming as I know personally that this would be a good top class restaurent and would bring alot of needed passing trade to the centre.  If Antonio puts them off then I think the commercial centre will struggle to survive.

I understand that with the problems at Tramplin Hills which are megga at the moment, El Tramplin is the least of their worries at present and to date Antonio is not in the mood to discuss Indian Restaurents.

Although I sympathise with the man and his problems, he must remember that we still exists and are pushing for a good successful urbinization.

Went to Happy Days this evening for a meal, they had no steak, no chicken and no Lasange.  They did have a full menu of Indian Curries which hardly anyone was ordering.  Two people who did order sent their curries back!!

It looks like the Indian is not going to be.  Who do you think is putting the block on this?  I have had a few comments tonight and many unhappy people.

Dont they realise that by having a proper Indian Restaurent here, it will bring in much wanted passing trade.  Surely Happy Days should concentrate on what they do best and it does not look like it is Indian Curry.

I am sure if we had the Indian, then Happy Days would benefit, after all people will still go in for a drink and for a different menu.  I am sure the Indian wont want to do Pasta, pizzas etc.

If this restaurent is not going to be allowed then we will say goodbye to our commercial centre, it has no chance of survival, we will end up like many urbanizations in Spain with direlect commercial centres full of graffiti.

Happy days provides a good and well needed service in El Trampolin although thier are far too many units to survive with out passing traffic this was alway going to be a problem?? any fool could have predicted this outcome.

At most 6 units would have been loads....... time will tell

Enjoy the sun.

Hi

It's a shame that they are trying to change Happy Days as the food they did was good. I agree that more restaurants would in turn bring more customers for all, but it sounds like a certain person is trying to keep the monopoly which isn't good for us. Shame that the shop has closed too.

Don't forget, the road through the commercial centre will (one day) be a through road direct from the roundabout at Valle Del Sol up to El Valle. This would bring more passing trade. It's on the original plans but the office have said that the Council is actually constructing the road, so who knows when it will happen.

Going out next week so might find out more.

Any news on the deeds? It seems to have gone very quiet!

Regards

I believe that there is a misunderstanding going on here.  Happy Days are not changing their menu they have merely added a VERY VERY small curry menu to their exisiting menu.  Yes when daisymil went in there they may have run out of chicken and steak but this is a stock control issue rather than a conscious decision to become an In Indian Restaurant;  in Millie's current state, she cant even stand the smell of Fish & Chips and Beer let alone Curry!!!

I went in early evening last night and was one of two people who I saw eat off the curry menu and I can assure you that my plate was not sent back - Ok it was but it was empty!

The other problem that a new Indian Restaurant may have is the already successful one in Balsicas which caters very well for both the Brits and the Spanish, especially if you try and go there for a meal on a weekend and you haven't booked;  a little tip for anyone coming out and trying the Indian in Balsicas without booking -- DON'T, you won't get in.

As far as the deeds are concerned, around 20 houses from Phase 1 were called to a meeting at the legal services office with Pilar earlier this week.  we were given a copy of the Building Licence for each of our plots with a statement that the Notra Simple would be available within 1 month;  my solicitor estimates 3 months but, hey ho, we seem to be on our way!

My solicitor believes that we could be ready for a Habitacion Licence by September;  fingers crossed but something is definitely happening on Phase 1 and it seems to be positive.

The supermarket closed because they had advertised opening hours but never kept to them  They started by saying they were opening all day,  then they closed for a siesta between 2 pm and 4pm but unfortunately you could never guarantee when they would open and close and I think people just went for the certain option of Polaris or Quick Save, Sucina.

Current shops open are:  Happy Days, Launderette, Mens and Ladies Hairdressers, Beauty Salon (I'm too far gone to use this one!!) , Solicitors and a Printing Shop.  Others are planned including I believe a Ready Made Curtain Shop.  There has also been a lot of visits from an Indian Gentleman in the last few days (he has a drink in Happy Days) looking at both the old Furniture Shop and the old Supermarket so I wouldn't rule the possibility of an Indian Restaurant still opening;  now if we could only have a Chinese Takeaway....................
