Hi everyone.
Well, I just got back from my visit to Spain in the early hours of this morning, so have been lazing around all day recovering from what has been a really busy week. I got my NIE number and goodness, isn't that fun? Getting up at 5am and queuing for hours, then off the the bank, and a couple of days later (the public holiday came in the middle of my stay), signing the deeds etc with the notary and significant others. The best part of the week though, was going over to Igfama on Friday and meeting Neil, Wayne's mate, who very kindly changed my lock and made us a welcome cup of tea. Later, when Neil drove us back as far as the airport, we met Wayne, who had just arrived. We also met Erika and Walter, who we had met in May, but had forgotten their names, Rosemary, who is next door to me, and Amanda and friends, from next door to Wayne and Neil. Without exception, everyone was friendly and had nothing but good to say of Spain, Almoradi and the other residents. Looks like we're going to have a lovely friendly and mutually supportive community I think. I really can't wait now to get over there and settle in. What do others think of the furniture company Justin is recommending? I think they're pretty expensive; I've found one at Torreviecha (did I spell that right?) where I can get everything supplied and fitted for under £4000 € which compares well with others I've looked at. The site for anyone who's interested is arcamobiliara.com and they were recommended by some friends who invited us over for tea last week and had all their furniture from them. We were very impressed, so asked for the name of the company. Look forward to chatting to whoever is around at the moment and anyone who is going to be out there in February when I go again. Oh, nearly forgot, we all have post boxes in the hall now.
Regards to all
