Due to a volcanic dust cloud for an irrupting volcano on Iceland all flight too and from the UK have been cancelled until at least 16.00 hours, but the volcano is still erupting so that might be optimistic. If you or your friends are flying home today or tomorrow contact your airline and take a packed lunch with you to the airport as there might be a long delay…..

As you can see if you play with the zoom and left /right/ Up/ Down facility there is virtually nothing flying over the UK north of Stansted...
Most of Scandinavia is also locked down.

Residents in Orkney and Shetlands are already reporting a smell of sulpher in the air but no sign of the ash yet !!!! JA

The cloud of dust thats closed most airports today has been traced to manchester... apparently a cleaner at man city had been asked to give their trophy cabinet a wipe over!!
