Hi folks, for people buying in and around Murcia. The Daily Mail have done an article today on the area I do not know Murcia at all but it is telling us to forget the Costas and buy there. It is plugging Los Tres Molinos, Xarxadilla de Totana, Corvera golf and country club and Monte Aledo where their will not be a golf course. I do not know if this will be of interest to any of you but thought I would pass it on anyway. Regards Pat

Thanks Pat,
I missed out on that today. It does seem to be very popular with buyers and we are very happy with our place on Mar Menor and seems there are a lot of people who are looking to buy there that I know of. Our area is developing nicely and every time we go over there are new shops, restaurants etc. opened. It's like a mini adventure LOL. Sorry I know you posted before, but where have you bought? We are going on Sunday and hopefully will be able to post some more info about the area when we get back.

You were right with NIMBY. Not that I'm not interested, I just don't have a property there. I suppose the agents line will be we told you there's a new airport.........its up to you o find out where it is and where the planes will fly.
Where exactly is La Tercia? Is the blue line on the worlds worst map the railway and not the motorway? Isn't La Tercia on the F19, going up towards Sucina from the La Loma roundabout? I'm guesing that the C-3319 is the line just outside the circle but is incomplete, and that the motorway isn't marked at all (my map has it as the N 301 but I think it's the A-30)

The agents didnt just verbalise the fact of the new airport they were using it as a selling point and it was indicated on their resort layout map for the region. That said, no flight routes were indicted.
However after much discussion we have recalled seeing that Murcia city, Mosa Trajectum and Hacienda El Alamo, Mar Menor Golf, La Torre, El Valle, Hacienda Riquelme and La Loma, plus Roda Golf & Beach will mostly be within 20 minutes of the new airport, as well as Condado de Alhama.

Hi
Mike La Tercia is located just of the C3319 to reach the village, you can come of the C3319 at Balsicas or gea y Truyols. La Tercia is about 10 mins away from Hacienda Riquelme, The Blue line on the map could well be the railway line, I think it could also be the regional county boundary line. Like you say no one seems to have any information regarding the flight path plans.
Pat and Roy thanks for the information, I see Gary Lineaker is endorsing Los Tres Molinos. Gina look forward to the info when you return.

Hi Mike
The map that I originally posted was originally for the benefit of the owners of our development , it was just to give us an idea of the airport and where the flight paths could be in relation to our development. I have made a number of enquires regarding the flight paths but no one seems to have this information yet.

Hi Davey
This seemed a bit more official and a bit more accurate.
Based on flight paths from San Javier there shouldn't be much deviation from the line of the runway. I know there's still abit of guess work, but HR & La Tercia wouldn't appear to be on the flight path............If it ever gets built

We thought we recognised this from davey's post 25th May- we looked through the gallery on the site he offered. Its true its hard to tell anything other than the runway seems to be left to right ,but we need compass directions to get it quite right. Then I suppose its a matter of approach. We need an air traffic controller or similalr, I imagine, to comment.

Hello everyone.
I have read some of the comments on this "New Airport" at Corvera and the flight paths it might or might not take. One of which was that it could come over Balsicas. I would`nt of thought this would be a flight path because, San Javier is not closing down and therfore planes from other airports wont be allowed to come into its air space, or at least that what aviation law says! Not 100% sure
We were NOT told of the new airport when we purchased our property, it wasn`t until we got talking to our Neighbours on EOS that we found out.
Another cock up by the agents.....Parador

Yes yes yes Parador get another mention.
You'd be surprised how close the flight paths for Manchester & Leeds/bradford are.
I don't think the planes will go as far over as Balsicas

I have posted information from La Economia and a clearer map of the plans for the airport on the above thread.
All it says about the flight paths is that the one to/from Corvera will be parallel to the San Javier one and that Hacienda del Álamo is directly under the flight path.
It seems that the contract is out to tender this month and companies have 120 days to submit their bid. I think this is the contract to build the infrastructure to the airport and also to run it when it is built, and it seems that there is interest from about six companies. They talk about Corvera opening in 2009, but they are not specific about which month. The plan is to have a 30 minute turnaround for aircraft at Corvera, so as to keep landing fees etc down. It is envisaged that the airport will need to be made bigger in about 2014 if projections about passenger numbers are correct.

Hi, Davey
I've looked at the article again and it is apparently from the May 2006 edition! So, old news. Nice map though! Your information is more up to date.
As for the floods, and thanks for asking, we have been lucky because we live on high ground and so unaffected at home. There are still a few inconveniences for us but nothing like the people whose homes have been flooded are having to cope with. The eastern side of the city will take a long while to recover although people are working really hard to get things cleaned up.

Interesting that the plans have been kicking around since 2001.
I bet if you were on a site affected by noise polution it would have been conceived after that date
