Anybody know when the A-7053 is supposed to be reopening?

Heard a rumour in April that one side may open in August allowing two single lanes, one in each direction. It may well close towards the winter to allow the other side to be completed. It is Spain so I wouldn't hold out much hope. The sooner it is done the better. It has been fun at Alhaurin Golf over the last year with the road to Alhaurin el Grande being a rough track then closed, the road to Coin closed as well. Only road in and out for months was the Mijas road and we all know how good that is.. When it is all done it will be great though.

When ever it opens will not make up for the cost of shops and peoples business closed, we had a shop but as a lot of customers came from coast, they just gave up and went else where.

I cycled the length of the road last night from Fuengirola to the BP station, and there is significant progress from the last time I rode it a few months back. From the BP station heading down its all tarmac for about 7km, down past the 'English Fort', Vatocado turn, into the dip, and up and over the top of the hill befroe the drop into Fuengirola. Will be a great improvement once completed.
