Something novel- Let's bash another airline and their luggage policy instead of the usual one!

BBC Watchdog reported last night that the frames used b bmibaby to measure hand luggage are smaller than the dimensions quoted on their website. Full details can be found here.

Hi Marksfish
I said on previous thread surely it would be far better if all airlines have one standard size for hand luggage.
It would have been also interesting if they had also checked the scales at the checking desk!

The actual Watchdog programme suggested that only those that check in online were being affected by the smaller frame. Those checking in at the airport and using the frame there were okay, but those who hadn't used them at check in were being targeted (presumably because those customers couldn't argue the toss that it fitted at the desk!!)
The hand luggage size for bmibaby is the same as for Ryanair (55cm x 40cm x 20cm), so maybe someone has been listening roddy?

Hi Marksfish this from Jet2.com website regarding hand luggage limits.
You are permitted one small piece of hand baggage of not more than 10kg and dimensions not in excess of 56x45x25cm, including wheels and handles. Any piece of baggage that does not meet these requirements will need to be checked in as hold baggage and the relevant fee will be charged. It is not possible to use your hand baggage allowance against your checked baggage allowance or vice versa.
This making budget airline Jet2.com generous! does any other airline offer a greater allowence than Ryanair, BMI & Easyjet etc.
Also on the same subject.

What surprises me is how they just change the size so quickly without informing anyone---oh I forgot Ishould not be it is a money spinner!!! Thank you for all the links on this as I thought it was linked to employee commission/bonuses! Jw
