Cambank difficult to deal with
The Comments |
I am feeling so frustrated with Cambank. Their customer service is non-existent.They do not answer e-mails and their response to my request for help has been ignored. They demand paperwork and evidence from the customer but do nothing !!
Does anyone else find Cambank a poor bank to deal with ?

Absolutely. Their customer service is terrible.
When they want to sell you mortgages they are happy to speak and write English. But when you have a complaint virtually none of their staff are able to communicate in English!! Amazing.
On 31 July 2008 we first reported our complaint by email to Fernando Martinez Hernandez at CAM Bank in Murcia. To this date he has never had the courtesy to even acknowledge the complaint.
In October 2008 we then reported the matter to Aurelio Pedros in the CAM London Representative office. In January 2009 he said the matter was outside his remit and that we should file a complaint directly with the CAM Customer Services department in Alicante.
In February 2009 we submitted our complaint to CAM Head Office in Alicante.
They failed to resolve the issue and by December 2009 we had taken the complaint to the highest level within CAM Bank - to the Chief Executive - Roberto Lopez Abad and the President - Modesto Crespo. They instructed a member of their Customer Services team to send us an email on their behalf denying any liability for the contents of our complaint.
We have since reported the matter to the Valencian Savings Ombudsman who have advised us to report the matter to the Banco de Espana.
It appears that Litigation is the only thing CAM understands or responds to.
Kind regards
Keith

I'm afraid that's the same everywhere in Spain!
When the Spanish want your money they are more than happy to talk English.
But once you've signed on the dotted line and handed over your money it's got to be all in Spanish after that.....
The Spanish sold out to us and now like it or not we are here and united we could change everything!

Yes, united we must stand.
Many of the Banks & Savings Banks failed to observe their obligations relating to off-plan deposits under LEY 57/68, in particular Article 1.2
It appears that CAM maybe one of the biggest offenders.
Many of those same Banks & Savings Banks who did actually issue the legally required Bank Guarantees are now refusing to honour them for no legitimate reason. They are pushing their luck and hoping that some purchasers will just give up the fight and walk away.
But anyone affected by these issues should not give up. We must remember that it is not only the British and Irish that are affected. There are many Spanish citizens who are also victims of Bank Guarantee abuse with regards to off-plan deposits.
Times are changing and slowly but surely more judges are starting to view Bank Guarantee cases with a more open mind. They are beginning to see through the games and delaying tactics being used by the Banks & Savings Banks.
Every month there is a little more Case Law created that may be used to strengthen future cases.
Kind regards
Keith
