birds nesting behind air con unit

Hi Guys,

Hope you can help, we have had a problem with birds trying to nest between the balcony wall and aircon unit at our apartment, has anyone had a similiar problem? how did you discourage them? we have cleared the nest several times and during the summer there was a dead bird in the nest but the people checking in on our apartment tell us they are continuing to try to build the nest, we are going over next week and I would really like to fix this problem so any suggestions would be great

the only thing you can do to prevent the birds nesting is to fix a wire mesh cage over the unit and connected to the wall to prevent the birds access to the back of the unit ,we have seen this problem many times [ mesh needs to be small around 1cm ] but you can buy this in any good ferreteria. the birds may still nest onto the mesh but it prevents the unit fans and vents being blocked directly.  hope this is helpful
