Hi,

Does anyone know what the cost of chemotherapy or radiotherapy would be, if you are covered by private health insurance. I may need some sort of treatment after an op to remove a melanoma, and have just noticed the insurance company do not cover medicine for oncology after the op (great!)

I know it depends on the type of medicine or treatment I need but has anyone been through this,, and how much did it cost?

Thanks, Jane

Hi Jane

When my mum was over a couple of years ago she needed radiotherapy treatment and the private hospital gave us a quote which was in the thousands!   It would obviously depend on how much you need but it's certainly expensive.

It was just too much so she waited until she returned to the UK to get the treatment.

Hope you get it sorted.

Justin

Not sure. I have paid taxes in Spain for 16 years but I have not worked since last October. Having said that, panic over as I just found out that Medifiatc do cover chemotherapy and radiotherapy - thank God - thanks anyway x
