Cheers Rosi.
It's started raining again here now. It was lovely and sunny this morning though. We took our new puppy for a walk down the seafront.
I have to admit that I still find it odd that they teach the Spanish that way. It would only be useful to people living in that area and I thought the TV programme was aimed at the whole country.

Hi Laury, the Andulucian accent is quite a strange one. As an Andulucian explained to me they are quite lazy in their speech. They never finish their words off, for instance they will say Madri for Madrid or Gracia for Gracias. They will also pronounce their 'V' s as 'v's where the correct pronunciation should be the harder 'B'.

Cheers Alan.
I still find it interesting that they teach it that way.
It doesn't bother me in the slightest. We found it fascinating tat there seem to be so many choices of coffee down in the CDS too.
As we like our coffee milky, we would love to have the choices shown on the programme the other day,
Laury

Hmm!
Methinks that If we British can't get our act together and speak one dialect, then I haven't got a snowballs chance in hell of speaking Spanish correctly!
In Duqeusa I have noticed that 'V' is 'B' and vice-versa such as Puerto Banus is pronounced: Pour toe Van oos.
Mind you the best proounciation I've heard thus has to be Fuengorillia - Ph when gor e la
Also Sabinillas is Sab in e as
It seems that the double 'L' is missed completely!?!
Having said all this, as I'm Welsh and having all this 'phlem in the back your throat' (thanks Jasper Carrot) helps me tremendously during the correct pronunciation.

Oiga, dos café con leche por favor - two white cups of coffee
or
Oiga, dos café muy lácteo por favour - two very milky cups of coffee
As for the Mrs and myself, well it's
Oiga, dos café solo por favour - no milk and very strong
Followed by:
La cuenta por favor - the bill please
See, I have been watching

We have developed the habit of asking for dos cafe con leche con poco cafe y mucha leche. haha
The programme showed dozens of milky combinations.

I was watching a programme called Costa Blanca Life yesterday on Sky ch. 293 & this second one was about Torrevieja area. It was really well worth watching. Apparently it's repeated on 30/7 at 5pm UK time & again on 5/8 at 3.30pm UK time. (First one was about Alicante, Tabarca island, Guadalest & the animal sanctuary at Guadalest.)
Check out schedules on http://www.livinginspain.tv/schedule.htm

BTW : Someone was asking if it's on Freeview, producers said no. BUT we have Sky &, when we remove our Sky card, we have built in freeview & we still get it !!
