Flying to Gibraltar
The Comments |
Have just returned from our apartment on the Costa del Sol. We flew with easyjet from Liverpool to Gibraltar and I must say it was much easier than anticipated. The airport is small (though there is a lot of building work going on apparently they are extending using the general road as part of the runway and they are making a tunnel road for traffic) but it was great. Off the plane, hardly any queing just a very short walk across the border to collect the hire car where again there was no ridiculous queing like at Malaga airport. Short walk then to the car park, collect car and away to go. Our journey to Casares del Sol was just about 25 minutes which is normally approx 1 hour from Malaga airport and no toll road fees. On return we parked the car in the car park, walked across the border in to the airport. Voila! No need to arrive dead early as the airport itself has just about 6 tiny shops (very cheap spirits, cigarettes etc.) and 1 little cafe. Everyone just seats themselves in the middle and that's it! The easyjet staff were very pleasant and helpfull and said they liked the flight themselves as everyone is much more chilled but in order to keep it we must use it. So folks just letting you know that I booked four further flights out this year just after Christmas and I am so glad! If you have any problems with car hire feel free to ask my advise.
