Hi .I have a property in Catalunia , it was built and owned by my family in 1975 .Due to being one of the first built on the urbanisation, the elec meter is in the garage .as the property is only occasionally occupied the estimated bills are way over the top , and is a long drawn out process at the Fecsa Endessa offices to get re-calculated .
I have been told that as most (but certainly not all ) properties have their meters in the front wall , they will eventually tell me to get mine moved , and if Endessa get involved it will cost a kings ransom .
I understand that I can pre-empt and get the meter moved by an electrician myself (saving cost ) .Some have told me that it MUST be installed by a certified ( unknow and a lot more expensive ) electrician . I have also been told that its fine to use a reccomended competent "lampestra " and Endessa will have no interest, and just start reading the meter , without any questions of how it appeared in the front wall .
The property will go on the market in the next few months so if I can leave it to the new buyer to sort out , and keep on getting the overpayments corrected I will do so .However , with the property market as it is , it could take a long time to sell .
ADVICE PLEASE !!!!
