Every time i go past the butchers there are throngs of people waiting, it is so bad they have chairs to sit on whilst they wait. Anyone know why. And does any brit bother tospend thier afternoon there?

In our village no one seems to be in any sort of hurry. Going to the local butchers is a great opportunity for the elderly to get out, spend some time chatting to people, including the butcher, so what's the hurry?
It's absolutely no good for someone like me who starts breaking out into a sweat at the mere site of a queue, but the locals like to take their time and enjoy the whole social aspect of going to the butchers!
I wonder if that will ever be me?

I know I hate queues too and when it gets bad I have to leave the trolley and go home. but i do wonder how after going to the butchers they have the time and energy to cook it when they get home.
