Hello - Any advice on International Rentals?

Hi
I have a booking for my apartment in Spain in August for a Russian family for three weeks. An agent has booked it on their behalf and is now stating that they need ''invitations' as the family have to go to the embassy in Russia on the 4th June. I keep asking what they mean by ''invitations' but they keep repeating themselves and have now emailed me there passport details. Obviously they need something from me in an official capacity but I am not sure what!!! Is it to do with visa?
Do you have any idea what my legal responsibility is or what paperwork I have to send them?
I have to get back to them today if anyone has any information I would be most grateful.
Thanks
Suki

I'm really not sure of the legal view point, but I believe they are asking for a letter from you that you are "sponsoring" their visit, as such, so they can then produce this to the Spanish Embassy where they are to obtain their visas.
Maybe you need to get in touch with someone who would know, perhaps your lawyer, to find out what your liabilities would be.

Hi sukhum
Welcome to EOS
i hope you got the problem sorted by now!
I just hope you weren't inviting them to come an stay for 5/6 years! You never know with people these days what they need "written invitations" for"
Kind regards,
