Hello Rowland,

Involved in the negotiations for the development of the project Marina de Cope are:

- Consejería de Turismo de Murcia (Regional authority in Murcia for tourist affairs)

- Town Halls of Lorca and Águilas municipalities.

- The majority of the land owners.

- Real Estates and Developers: Valleduero, Avocasa, Extremalia, Iberdrola Inmobiliaria, Actura and Summa.

All of this parts are together in which is called "Consorcio Marina de Cope", created to become the project a reality.

Apparently, Goverment of Spain says will go to Spanish Courts to avoid the creation of this project, but the Regional Goverment of Murcia (PP party) wants to go ahead.

Sorry, that´s all I know about this for the moment. You may find contact details of the promoters and real estate companies mentioned above though the internet.

On www.cbalmeria.com there is a report that this new developmnet has been given the 'Thumbs Up' and now looks s real possibility

11.000 properties, 22,000 hotle rooms, 5 golf courses etc planned to make this area one of the most important tourist projects on the Mediterranean

Iberdrola Inmobiliaria , Caja Murcia and Bancaja are all involved

So all this added to the Polaris World Condado de Alhama must make this area   and the adjoining ones a good long term investment for anyone buying now

The marketing and facilities for this location are sure to have a huge economic impact and history tells us that it will be good for property prices in the medium to long term
