Car hire spain

Hiya, I am new to this site but noticed several reviews on Doyouspain car hire. I am waiting for this company to sort out a problem that I had Xmas eve 2012. I arrived at Alicante only to find that there was no car available. Added to this on checking my account the money had been taken twice. This was a good start to a merry Xmas, I have emailed them but have heard nothing apart from the standard we are dealing with this message, I rang them over the Xmas period but did not get an answer, I don't understand why this issue cannot be resolved quicker. Has anyone else had this problem or can anyone suggest an avenue that I can take to resolve this. I live two hours from Alicante and this caused me a huge problem at extra cost. I am not one to moan normally but this was the first time I had used this company. I am now back working in the UK, thanks for reading this.

I assume you paid using a credit card.  Have you tried processing a chargeback via your credit card company?  That's probably the next logical step.

There have been a few complaints on various sites about this company.  Not sure they they don't try and clean up their act a little.

As DoYouSpain are a broker I don't think you will
have much redress with them Your contract would
have been with the rental company itself, ie Goldcar
or whoever
When in this situation I informed my c/c company and
they refunded me without to much stress
