I believe the fare rates vary from area to area,

But note:  in Spain it is not normal for Spaniards to tip, taxis, restaurants etc.

It is not expected.

This is shown by the fact that if say a bill comes to 30 euros, and you pay with a 50 € note. you will normally be given a 20€ note as change, not a 10€ note, a 5€ note and some 1's
