All,
I need to purchase a bed for my house in Murcia. The last time we bought it in Ikea which is nice and we're happy with it, but i wondered if there are any other specialist bedding shops - the problem is that the ones that cater for the holiday apartments with "package schemes" all seem t have a scary range of hideous designs and finishes.
I'd like some simple classic wooden frame, a bit like Warren Evans in the uk make but they don't delivery to Spain.
Since Amazon have stopped delivery to Spain I' think I'm a bit limited to buying one here. John Lewis delivery but not large items. All the other big suppliers i can think of don't currently deliver to Spain.
Otherwise, I guess i'm back to Ikea for another bed!
Regards, Carl

El Corte Ingles deliver. They appear to me to be the John Lewis equivalent

Thanks for the suggestion. I find that shop well over priced for the most part.
It's a balance between the whacky styles most bed shops in Spain offer and the uber up market over inflated prices that the top end sell for.
Ideally, I'd like to find a good supplier in the UK that delivers to Spain. I just miseed the boat with the free Amazon deliveries to Spain :(

We used a shop in Alfaz del Pi for our beds and were very pleased with them. It's called "The Bed Specialist" and the salesmen were British. They have a comprehensive stock and can order in anything you want. Their number is 965 889 497. They're quite a distance from you, but nearer than England!

I am frankly astounded that anyone would consider buying a bed in another country.
Rather insulting to suggest that Spain cannot make and supply beds which are equivalent to anywhere else. Never had any problem in the many years I have owned, and now lived here.

I'm sure there must be suppliers of beds in the Murcia region. We have loads of furniture shops, and even Carrefour, selling them and all deliver. Be aware of the different sizes (and names) for beds in Spain. Apart from the king size, the Spanish beds are different so you would have to adjust your fitted sheets etc accordingly.

We bought a king size bed, Ottoman style, from The Bed Specialists, La Zenia, by the N332. We have had it since 2005 & it is superb. We chose the base & mattress separately. They are from Newcastle & know their stuff. You should reach them on this email .. Torrevieja@thebedspecialists.es

I doubt you are in the Jerez region but if you, are a great place to buy beds and made in Spain!! is TUMBATE,Parque Empresarial de Jerez, C/ Del Desarollo 1. They are wholesalers and retailers, and we were extremely helpful with free delivery and as an ottoman type bed they put the base and drawers together for us. We were most impressed with this service and price!! 10 out of 10 especially as Corte Inglese were much more expensive.

thanks everyone for your useful feedback, although I have to admit to being somewhat bemused around Elaine's comments.
For clarity, I'm quite sure that there are some lovely beds in Spain, however what you don't have is the same competition in Spain that you have in the UK and that I think reflects in the costs for a decent bed which are lot more for the beds that I like.
I don't really see how that is in any way offensive - and it certainly wasn't intended to be.

Well, you do get quite a lot of competition in Spain for beds but, obviously, not in your area. For example, we have a Bedland (twinned with Sofaland), Hnos Garcia with 3 outlets, Conforama in Zenia Boulevard, Muebles Hogar, Torregrossa, Camas de Hogar, Muebles Anticrisis (selling seconds), Colchoneria, Arca plus at least 3 other shops along the same road as one of the Garcias, Torregrossa and Muebles Hogar. And that's just in Torrevieja! Almoradi (quite a small place) has half a dozen furniture and bed shops in one street including a Muebles Max Descuento.
I'm afraid I don't know the Murcia region very well but I'd be surprised if the outlets weren't there. Personally I dislike the beds in Ikea as they seem to be about 6 inches off the ground and the price you see probably doesn''t include the headboard, baseboard, springs, screws to put them together or a mattress.
