Which airport would you say was easier mile wise to get  to Vera? and time wise? Is there really a lot of difference?

Probably not a lot of difference.

We travelled from Vera to Almeria airport & door to door it was about 50 minutes - steady pace on empty motorway!

Haven't done the trip from Murcia to Vera but travelled down from Algorfa which took 2 hours exactly. We had previously driven from Algorfa to San Javier in about 45 minutes - so it might be slightly longer from Murcia but only by about 10 minutes or so.

Driving from Murcia on the new AP7 - don't forget you have to pay the toll.

When do you go? We go on 17th August & will be using Murcia for the first time.

Noreen

We travelled from Vera to Murcia airport last month and hopefully will be doing so regularly in the future. Just over an hour with a gentle cruise and again, empty roads, but as Noreen said, don't forget the toll road which is €11.50 if I remember correctly.

We hope to be going by at least the 17th, as we are waiting to complete.  We have the go ahead from developer, just waiting for lawyer to set date.  As it looks as if there might not be any car rentals available for the whole month, we might end up driving there anyway.

Thanks

Speaking of hire cars our friend went to Quesada a couple of weeks ago & they couldn't get a hire car, they said. Whether they just couldn't get a hire car from the chap they like to use & didn't know any alternatives, I don't know as I've only learnt this from a mutual friend when I rang her.
