Short term holiday rental contracts
The Comments |
I have been searching the 'net today and modifying several found "contracts" to suit my needs.I am wondering if I am better off asking my solicitor to draw a contract up from scratch or whether to let him cast an eye over the one I have (all price dependent I suppose). What do others who rent out their properties without an agent do? Can anyone point me in the right direction of a good example of a contract that they would consider using?

Hi Mark,
If you PM an e-mail address, I can send you a copy of a simple short term/holiday contract (in Spanish, but pretty straightforward and easy to understand) that I have used frequently. (Word doc. attachment)

Pay attention to the duration stablished in the contract and if it is for dwelling or for a different use as it may involve automatic extensions which are usually the root of many rental problems.
There is also the possibility of submitting the contract to arbitration rather than Courts which I highly recommend as it is a more effective conflict resolution method ( when renting).
I promise I will write an article on renting soon.
Best,
Maria
