a heat exchanger uses mainly sunlight,
I thought a heat exchanger basically scavenged heat from one source and exchanged it with a liquid which is then used to heat, say the pool or cool, say a refrigerator. That being so, that it is in direct sunlight would seem to make little difference, as the air would be more or less the same temperature.
That is of course unlike a solar water heater, which I have, which fundamentally require direct sunlight. If that, and not a heat exchanger, were being used to heat the pool, then it would need to be in direct sunlight.
Or have I got it wrong ?
