can anyone help or give me advice.

I have just moved back to england after nearly 5 years as a spanish resident.

I have tried to charge my spansih kindle and also tried out my spanish travel

kettle. with adaptor plugs but neither one will work.

Have checked our electric sockets and all are working well

I suppose my choices are

1. change fuses (I have tried 2 different adapter plugs)

2. buy a new adaptor plug.

3. buy a new kindle and travel kettle.

any advice please.

p.s. can anyone also tell me if I can transfer my books from my spanish

kindle to an english kindle. (if I need to buy one)

No such thing as "a Spanish Kindle" or an "English Kindle",. They are all the same and it depends on how you have set up your account with Amazon. If you put your location as UK, you will automatically be on the .co.uk site, if you put Spain you will be on the .es site and if you put .com you will be on the US site. Any books or other items you have will be on any Kindle you buy anywhere in the world if you have set it up for you email address and changed your location on hte Amazon site to the one you registered with.

All your items should work as the whole of Europe has gone to 230V (UK went down 10 and most of Europe went up 10).

Try changing the plug itself rather than using an adaptor. We had a kindle (the 3g one) that wouldn't charge. When I contacted Amazon they said this was a known fault and changed the kindle for a brand new one even though the warranty was well out of date (over 2 years). They even refunded the P&P for us. Also had a neighbour who dropped one in the pool and the screen went black. They changed it for a (I think) nominal charge of £20.

Kindles can also be charged via the USB port on your computer - check that works
