If you look at the mass shootings in the USA, most are carried out by white male Christians, Harold Shipman, Arthur Hutchinson, Fred West, Perer Sutcliffe, Dennis Nilsen, Ted Bundy and many more were/are not muslims. I have no time for Islam but can't blame muslims for all of the world's ailments.

Also not wanting to diminish the problems caused by Imperialism over the years - and the Spanish and Portugese Empires were very brutal too, but I think the main crime of the west was to not understand the different factions of Islam.   I don't believe anyone expected them to tear each other apart the way they are.   I seem to remember not so long ago, that we all thought - if only we could sort out Palestine.   Well, that seems pretty pathetic and simplistic now doesn't it?    The other thing specifically Britain should not have been doing of course, is to allow the growth of Muslim communities who did not want to integrate.  By doing this, the UK Governments have encouraged the growth of a regressive, misogynistic culture, which simply does not fit into western culture.  I have to say, I have had to stop and think about how unhappy some of those Bradford Muslims must be, to take their babies and kids to live in Islamic state.  Unsupported by a UK government, married off young to men brought in from the sub continent etc etc.  Not happy lives.  I don't suppose they feel they owe much to us.

We can thank the academic left wing for most of the problems that occur between muslims and others in the UK. Muslims are encouraged not to integrate, however if none muslims wish to integrate with muslims this is encouraged. We see signage in Urdu and Somali, the police have their hands tied when it comes to Asian drug crime and sexual activity between Pakistani men and white female children, there are only 360 degrees in a circumference, and it looks as though we have come full circle.

They did, and we were crying, 9/11, the USA bombed Afghanistan in retaliation, no oil in that place.

As I have said the root cause is religion and fear. The MINORITY of muslim extremists are doing very little different to what many religions and nations have done in history (murder, rape, torture, brain washing, slavery, racism, sexism, corruption, greed, hypocrisy etc etc) and  religions are still doing it

Why anyone would beleive in any form of God or religion or after life is beyond me

I love it, well written. I was not born in the uk, lived glived here for over 36 years, pay tax and ni like most and will probably die working my ass off. I had to Iearn English and adapt to the English way of life which was pretty easy to do. If people don't like it stay in the country if your choice or is it because you do not have a voice and will be thrown in prison or executed if you complain. Stop being a hypocrite and make others life hard. If you don't eat pork, beef or any fform of meat, then don't touch it, it's that simple. Not everyone wants to be a Muslim. I am not keen on pork I just like bacon but I would never tell anyone not to eat it. People need to grow a back bone and tell them to fu-- off.

Religion is the root cause of most of the worlds woes, backed up by politics that make the actions of religious zelots appear to be legal. If any American presidential candidate stated that they did not believe in god they wouldn't stand a chance of being elected. Islam is now doing what Christianity did for centuries, along with other faiths, the sooner that the public sector/politicians stop respecting mumbo jumbo the better, even the UK left wing, that is strongly anti religion, bends over backwards for Islam.

A lot of people replying to this thread will state in one way or another "religion is the cause of most wars".

Very simplistic and easy to state without facts.  I suggest that you are mixing up "religion" with Christ's message of love, especially to one's enemies.  Somewhere, Christianity has got hijacked.

When did Christianity retaliate in recent years?   

The crusades or burning heretics are two cases usually quoted.  Ask yourselves when that happened.

There is more evidence to state that non-religious/atheist 'empires' have slaughtered more people:

Stalin

Pol Pot

to name a few.
